Hi Brad, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 2003, during a lending environment dominated by mortgage brokers, I worked as a loan officer for a mortgage brokerage in Irving. I remained with that broker for over eight years until significant changes in the industry began to destabilize the broker model. Like many brokers at that time, we transitioned out of the traditional broker space and began working for a broker/banker, where the company handled the entire loan process, including processing, underwriting, closing, and funding, and then sold the loans on the secondary market. I worked in this capacity with several companies until July 1, 2025, when I founded my own brokerage, Your Mortgage Guy For Life LLC.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The mortgage industry has experienced its share of ebbs and flows. In the early 2000s, when interest rates were in the low 6% range, few believed rates could ever fall that low…much less go lower. Business was strong during that period.
In the years that followed, the industry underwent significant change as increased government regulation reshaped compliance requirements, alongside rapid advancements in technology that transformed the loan process. Adapting to the new rules, timelines, and compliance standards presented challenges.
Overall, however, my career has been marked by a steady and well managed progression. Experienced professionals in the mortgage and real estate industries understand the cyclical nature of both interest rates and market conditions and plan accordingly. While there have certainly been challenging periods, preparation and long term vision have allowed me to navigate them without being caught off guard.

I own and operate Your Mortgage Guy For Life LLC, an independent mortgage brokerage based in Texas. We help clients with purchase loans, refinances, and strategic mortgage planning, with a strong focus on long-term relationships rather than one time transactions.
What sets my company apart is experience and structure. I’ve been in the mortgage business since 2003 and have worked through multiple rate cycles, regulatory shifts, and market corrections. Because I operate as an independent broker, I’m not tied to one bank’s products or pricing. That allows me to shop loans across multiple wholesale lenders to find the best combination of rate, terms, and strategy for each client.
I’m known for being direct, educational, and highly responsive. Clients don’t get passed off to layers of staff or call centers…they work directly with me from application through closing. I specialize in helping buyers and homeowners understand why a loan is structured a certain way, not just what the payment is.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of trust and longevity. The name “Your Mortgage Guy For Life” reflects how I view the business: advising clients through different stages of life, market conditions, and financial goals. I want readers to know that my brand is built on transparency, experience, and consistency, especially in an industry that often feels confusing or impersonal.
How do you think about happiness?
What makes me happy is helping people. Early in my career, a mentor told me, “If you focus on working for people instead of working for the money, the money will always follow.” That advice stuck with me and still guides how I approach my work today.
When times get tough or situations become challenging, I lean into that purpose. It keeps me grounded and motivated. Sitting at the closing table with families I’ve helped and watching their homeownership dreams come to life is something I never take for granted. It’s why I love what I do.
