Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Allen.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started photography about 2 and a half years ago, but the curiosity started long before that. A few years ago, my wife bought me a point and shoot camera, and once I mastered that, I bought myself a Nikon. My first big shoot was for a website, and I really loved it, but it wasn’t until I was laid off from my job that I really pursued photography full time.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Definitely not a smooth, but it has been fulfilling. My challenges have been putting myself out there because I’m a very private person and just the general challenges of being an entrepreneur. Learning how to manage the books, keeping a schedule, determining rates, all while being a husband and father.

I specialize in lifestyle, fashion, and commercial photo shoots. Making it to one year was a huge milestone for me, and being able to shoot for 4 magazines within that time is what I’m most proud of. What you can always expect from Brandon Allen Photography is great customer service and a quality product.
What were you like growing up?
I was very outgoing, always passionate, especially in the pursuit of knowledge. I’ve always loved art and sports. I was pretty headstrong which caused me to get in trouble sometimes, but that same determination is also what makes my business so great.
