Meet Brandon Perez of B’s Kitchen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Perez.

Hi Brandon, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I have always worked in Corporate America, but when the Covid-19 Pandemic devastated the country, I myself, including many Americans, was eventually furloughed/laid off. I have never been a static individual, so I started creating ideas on how to stay busy during the shutdown. Cooking has always been a passion of mine, with a high influence from my family. To be exact, my Papa God Bless his Soul, and my Granny owned a BBQ restaurant in South Dallas many years ago. I spent a lot of time there with my Grandparents while my Parents worked their butts off to more than provide for my siblings and me. Those were the good times. I was always in awe of how awesome that place was. I believe they set the bar, and the talent just trickled down the family tree. From my mother having me cook for the family when she was working crazy hours at a young age to my adult life, just loving to cook for anybody and everybody, the light above my head turned on. People have been watching me cook for years, whether it was on the grill or stove. I would never miss an opportunity to help my family cook for any of our gatherings. With all that being said, I was motivated to perfect my passion and my craft to create B’s Kitchen.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Cooking for family and friends is one thing. If something doesn’t come out right or is missing something, it is easier to digest from that particular audience. When you are cooking for a complete stranger, the bar needs to be raised. I don’t think entrepreneurship on any platform is a smooth ride. One thing I have learned is that you have to stay Relevant. For example, social media can be difficult to gauge in the beginning, but if your passion is there, it definitely helps.

As you know, we’re big fans of B’s Kitchen. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
B’s Kitchen is exactly who I am. Extremely welcoming, easy-going, down-to-earth. I have two sayings that embody B’s Kitchen, “Everybody Eats” and “Get Busy.” “Everybody Eats” basically means that All are welcomed by B’s Kitchen and that I can guarantee quality food and satisfying portions for Everyone. “Get Busy” means that I love what I do and I have fun doing it. As I cook for my clients, I put a lot of joy into their meals. B’s Kitchen originally started off with individual plates, and over time it has grown to meal preps, catering events, requests for a personal chef, etc.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Over the next 5-10 years I would love to see myself possibly having a food truck or a small restaurant.
