Meet Brandon Wade of Brandon Wade Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Wade.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Brandon. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I grew up with a camera in my hand, but never really knew what I was doing. In middle school, however, a cousin introduced me to an SLR camera and I was hooked! Being able to have complete control of the settings to make the camera do what I wanted it to do gave me the ability to be more creative. I worked on my high school (Rockwall) newspaper “The Stinger” and yearbook. I then worked on my college newspaper “The Shorthorn” at UT-Arlington, were I learned a great deal from mentors in the photojournalism community.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being a photojournalist or a photographer in general is challenge when it comes to persuading clients that paying a fair rate for photography is worth it to them.

Since digital photography and iPhones have made it easy for people to take a photo at any time, many people no longer appreciate the effort, years of experience and professional equipment it takes to produce professional quality images.

Brandon Wade Photography – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I specialize in photojournalism. Telling people’s stories through photographs. I work for the two major print media outlets in the metroplex, plus four international wire services and several commercial clients.

All of these clients rely on my ability to complete assignments quickly while still producing great images.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My most recent proudest moment came at the end of April when “Title Town, Tx” a video DocuSeries I worked on with several colleagues at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram won two Edward R Murrow Awards, one for Excellence in Innovation and another for Excellence in Video. “Title Town, Tx.” followed the Aledo High School football team throughout their 2016 football season. They were undefeated and won a State Championship.
