Today we’d like to introduce you to Breeanna Banks.
Breeanna, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Growing up in Texarkana, TX, I never dreamed I could be the person I am today or own a business. I struggled with insecurities that stagnated my life. We grew up in public housing, and I never graduated from high school. According to the statistics, I was never supposed to make it out. I went on to obtain my GED and Associates degree.
In 2017, while seeking God for wisdom in my personal life and business. I realized that God had a plan and a purpose for my life. My purpose is to build God’s Kingdom with my gift of service. God put it in my heart to start the Kingdom Society Apparel brand, where we endeavor to be a community and a marketplace for the Kingdom. I share my faith in God with everyone through Kingdom Society Apparel’s store products and philanthropy giving. Kingdom Society Apparel gives an annual monetary donation through our Woman of Faith Award; we can provide this award because of purchases made in our online store. 20% of all purchases go toward the Woman of Faith Award. Also, Kingdom Society Apparel designs create and distribute an annual Woman of Faith Magazine covering the Woman of Faith Award as well as relevant ministry topics, tips, testimonies, and much more. Three years later, we have seen the power of the Good News travel around the world. We are thankful for the continued support from the Kingdom Society community members and Woman of Faith contributors. All the glory belongs to God!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Growing Kingdom Society Apparel into a strong brand has not been easy. We started with very little funding and big Faith. Through Faith and patience, Kingdom Society Apparel has been able to sustain for three years and thrive through COVID 19.
One of the biggest challenges of business was understanding a business; I did not know any business practices such as marketing, taxes, or scaling. After stumbling over the first year of business, I quickly realized I needed to learn more about it. I attended business conferences for business growth, attended YouTube university, read books, started studying big name brands as a model for business. I increased traffic to our website by 75%, increased sales by 300% in one year.
Please tell us about Kingdom Society Apparel.
Kingdom Society Apparel is a Christian Apparel and Novelty online store. We offer uplifting Christian Apparel and novelty for any occasion with an emphasis on quality and value. We are best known for unisex Christian t-shirts.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory is my birthday parties. My mom has always celebrated my birthday, like I am a celebrity.
