Today we’d like to introduce you to Brian Rutledge.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My journey began back in 2003 when my uncle asked me to help him build an internet company called Beauty & Hair (Wigs.com/Extensions.com/Hairpieces.com). I spent 12 years helping build the largest Ecommerce company in our industry. From there, I wanted to learn the manufacturer and salon side of the industry. My next venture as the Director of US Operations for Europe’s #1 wig brand Ellen Wille, had me traveling and distributing their products across the US, Canada, and Mexico, while traveling back and forth to Frankfurt, Germany! From there I joined the largest distributor for alternative hair goods HairUWear as their Business Development Manager. Through the years and visits with salons across the nation, I knew I wanted to take the next step to owning and running my own salon. This is when I acquired The Beauty Box Salon from a longtime friend, Christopher Box, who opened its doors back in 2009. We are rated #1 in Dallas for hair extensions and top notch with cuts, coloring, blowouts, wigs and even non-surgical hair replacement.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?

The Beauty Box Salon in rated #1 for hair extensions in Dallas. We specialize in tape-ins, fusion, bonding, halos and even clip-ins for extensions. We also pride ourselves with our amazing wig and non-surgical hair replacement team. Our stylists are top notch top with cuts, coloring and blowouts too. We strive to be the best and are always continuing education to further all of our stylists hair knowledge making them the most well rounded hair experts. We have a super talented team who are professional and keen to all of their clients’ needs. Along with being self-proclaimed “hairapist”!

My uncle Jorg, owner of Beauty & Hair, was a tremendous help with mentoring me on how to build and run a business. My wife Stefanie is my biggest fan and always pushing me to continue chasing my dreams while also keeping me grounded. Clients are why I continue doing what I do. Being able to give some back their identity through hair is something that is very hard to explain. I truly love providing an environment and atmosphere where anyone with any hair want or need feels welcomed, accepted, and knows they are in the right place to be taken care of.
