Meet Bridgit Kingsbery of Rags for Ransom Boutique in Frisco

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bridgit Kingsbery.

Bridgit, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have always had a love for fashion and I love to shop (just ask my Hubby)! I have always enjoyed helping my friends shop and find pieces that make them look and feel incredible.

In 2018, a friend of mine opened a boutique on Facebook. I stalked her for a while, wondering exactly what she was doing and how. After a couple of months, I reached out to her, asking about her new business. I assumed it was some sort of new MLM business. She told me she just decided to do it and was really enjoying it. I racked her brain for a bit, gathering all of the how-to information I could. I decided to go for it myself and opened Rags for Ransom Boutique in October of 2018.

I’ve always thought that Stacy & Clinton (thanks to “TLC’s What Not To Wear”) had the best job ever… helping women to find their inner beauty and having it shine through into their style/fashion. It is my passion to help all women look and feel good about themselves, using their own personal style to create confidence.

For me, Rags for Ransom Boutique is so much more than just selling cute clothes. I want to inspire, motivate and encourage all women to know their worth, to love themselves and know how to dress the body they have. I am just a regular girl who loves clothes and personal style. I want what you want – nice, flattering, quality clothing that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, but that makes me look and feel good about myself, no matter what the day holds.

The Rags for Ransom Boutique tagline is: For every woman. Every size. Every style. Everyday. I want all women to know that they can and deserve to look and feel good every single day, Regardless of size or shape.

Rags for Ransom offers high quality, trendy and classic pieces in sizes S-3X, at affordable prices.

Currently, the boutique is online only. But, you never know what the future holds.

Has it been a smooth road?
Starting my own business has definitely been a challenge. There are so many boutiques out there.

I’d say my biggest struggle has been figuring out exactly what I want my boutique to represent and how to stand out among all of the competition.

I strive to provide more than just clothes. I want to inspire, motivate and build up women. I want women to know that nobody is perfect. We are all flawed and we are all beautiful! We, as women, are all worthy of the good things in life. We deserve to take care of ourselves and love ourselves.

My hope is to build confidence and promote self-love and acceptance. I want all women to know how to dress the body they have, not the one they wish they had. You can look and feel great about yourself, no matter your size!

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Rags for Ransom Boutique strives to be inclusive of all women. All sizes. All styles. Our 4 Style Pillars – Boho, Casual, Classic & Edgy – represent the everyday women.

Rags for Ransom clothing is fun, flattering and meant for every day. Any day. All occasions.

I do all I can to help my clients learn what works and doesn’t work for their body. How to wear clothes that flatter and highlight all of the right things while still being comfortable. My hope and passion is to inspire, motivate and assist all of my clients in finding confidence in themselves and cultivating a style that is theirs alone.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
The Dallas area is such a great place for business. All businesses. There is so much constant growth and expansion. There are so many new people arriving everyday. I would recommend doing your research, of course, before starting a business anywhere. But, do it girl! Make that dream a reality. Take that first step and just go for it! You are worth it!
