Meet Brittany Goff of Wheat and Honey Co. & Wheatful Woman Event in Grapevine

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Goff.

Brittany, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Wheat and Honey Co. was founded to help busy women lead intentional lives. We saw this recurring theme among the women around us – they were busy. Busy being young professionals, friends, mothers. We wanted to create tools and space for intentionality. Wheat and Honey Co. includes handcrafted Bibles, Wheatful Woman Event and an online Wheatful Woman community.

Our handcrafted Bibles, STAY Bible Study and weekly Wheatful Wednesday devotions were created with our culture of “busy” in mind. We want to reach the woman desiring to know Jesus more and make study tools unique and accessible. We believe our hand-painted Bible covers are a direct representation of our unique walks with the Lord. These unique tools not only draw us in but are unique and one of a kind. Just like our relationship with Jesus. Our team also offers fully customizable, hand-painted Bibles that serve as great gifts for yourself or a loved one. We also take great joy in creating wedding guest book Bibles, unique to couples stepping into a season of marriage. Our team of designers works hand-in-hand with our customers to paint a Bible unique to them! Our Bible design team is made up of independent artists. Our business model pairs the talents of our Bible designer team with our community to share intentional study tools with our community.

This year, we hosted our first Wheatful Woman Event in Dallas. This event was created to be a space for women to come and breathe. We want to equip women with tools to understand their mental and physical health, grow deeper in their faith and innate desire for community. Wheatful Woman Event is a day of yoga, marketplace shopping, experiences in our braid bar and lip lounge and teachings. Our desire is for women to leave feeling more equipped to lead intentional lives and with a bag of awesome swag!

We believe women are unstoppable when equipped in holistic wellness. We strive to serve more busy women in the years to come through teachings of faith, physical and mental wellness. Our online Wheatful Woman Community serves as a place for women to be plugged into all things wellness year-round.

One of the nearest and dearest aspects of our business is our ministry partner, Valiant Hearts. Our purchases go back to equip our team with the opportunity to gift Bibles to their women overcoming the exploitation of sex trafficking.

Has it been a smooth road?
I like to illustrate business ownership as a roller coaster. You’re bound to experience the highest of highs and the lowest of lows when your faith, passion and career all align.

What am I learning? The importance of diversifying my heart investment. I have to choose what elements of my business are my passion projects and which are clearly and precisely serving needs. I’m a passionate person that feels everything. Sustainable business ownership has required me to look at the women I seek to serve and always focus on how I can equip them with the tools to lead intentional and sustainable lives. I’ve learned the importance of dispersing tasks among my team, asking for help and using google search. I’m also in the process of understanding rhythms of rest. It’s easy to continuously push a business forward when you office from home and are working to build revenue. The Lord has shown me reminders that He can do more in my stillness than my doing. I must trust that creating space for rest fuels my business more than working seven day weeks.

It’s been my greatest joy to be entrusted with Wheat and Honey Co. I started W&HC full time this July 2019. It has been a tremendous (and quite scary!) risk leaving my full-time career to pursue something so unknown. It has been and continues to be a walk of faith. Walking away from a stable six-year career in marketing, consulting and sales to start something from the ground up was undoubtedly the greatest risk I’ve made to date. I am thankful to be able to say it’s been the most fulfilling season of my life. I stepped away from what was comfortable and stepped into a calculated risk knowing my faith in the purpose and My Creator would fuel it. My husband and I got married May 2018 and he has been my rock and cheerleader day in and day out.

It’s heartbreaking to see our society of “busy” and the distractions that absorb the majority of our attention. The heartbeat to lead women to understanding wellness and intentionality keeps me going each day. It’s such a joy to watch new products and services unfold when we simply look at the road ahead and walk it. I’m learning to not seek to see full line-of-sight to what is coming but to instead enjoy the journey of the steps right before me. We must put our heads down, work hard, serve well and expect the Lord can do the rest.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Wheat and Honey Co. & Wheatful Woman Event story. Tell us more about the business.
Wheat and Honey Co.’s unique hand-painted Bibles (and our model of hiring independent artists), intentionality to equip women in wellness and our mission to raise awareness of sex trafficking encompass our mission. We bring together a team of talented artists to craft unique tools for women. We want to be the connector to women living their best and most intentional lives. Our hand-painted Bibles are such a unique representation of our individual walks and it’s our greatest joy to gift these handcrafted Bibles to women overcoming such a horrific experience. We hope to share a light of hope, awareness and healing.

W&HC’s mission of serving women while giving back to women has always been special. We have partnered with Valiant Hearts, an organization serving women overcoming the exploitation of sex trafficking, to gift Bibles to the women graduating from their programs.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Women are really stepping up and taking a stand for their health and life balance. We hope to continue to see this movement of empowered women empowering women. We want to be a source of space and tools to focus on the key elements to step into intentional living. We believe mental health, growth in faith, physical health and serving in community are fundamentals to living our best lives. Wheat and Honey Co. is honored to be a place of equipping and motivating women to breathe deep and step back into their lives more ready to tackle whatever comes their way with grace and strength.
