Meet Caiah Jones of Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Caiah Jones.

Hi Caiah , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is macaiah but I go by caiah. It’s just the nickname I was given as a kid. Ive been singing for as long as I can remember my parents a telling me that as a kid I never cried, but I always sang. I sang when I was hungry, when I was happy sang when I was sad, you name it. I began songwriting at the age of seven. I was given a task for my dad‘s church to write a song for the church’s anniversary and this is where songwriting became a pillar for me. From 6 to 12 grade I attended Grand Prairie fine arts academy school where I was classically trained, vocally and practiced musical theatre. In school and in life, I faced a lot of challenges mentally, including depression so music was a pillar for me. It’s what got me through a lot of trauma and a lot of hurt, music was what kept me grounded. God as well of course he’s always number one. It wasn’t until I fully surrendered to God and the plans that he had for me concerning my gifts that my music began to flourish. As of today, I write my music to ensure that people feel heard, people feel seen, people feel secure in themselves and in life. I want my music to bring encouragement and to bring comfort and joy to people‘s lives.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road like anything that is intentional and has purpose along with it comes hardships and twists and turns. My artistry has definitely been a roller coaster ride both good and bad there were times when I felt like I wasn’t good enough or I felt like I would just be another “artist” out there and I felt as though I didn’t have any purpose at one point, but God kept me and he insured me that he has a plan for my life he redirected my mindset concerning my gifts. And now I get to give them back to him.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a singer, songwriter, bgv, worship leader and artist. I specialize in folk, indie, ccm, gospel music. I think that my sound is what sets me apart from others.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Nic D’s “you don’t want it bad enough”, has definitely given me a different outlook as an artist.
