Meet Cala The Unicorn of Unicornfairylovechild in Downtown Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cala The Unicorn.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I never really fit in with any particular crowd so I spent a lot of my time alone reading. I read about different cultures, ways of thinking and options for success. I decided I was going to dedicate my life to the betterment of humankind when I was eight years old. By age ten, I had decided on epidemiology. I took my education very seriously but because I became pregnant with my first child during my first year of college, I decided to change my major to something that wouldn’t require travel: education.

I have been working in education for nearly ten years and I love it. During my career, I have had the opportunity to guide many souls and uplift so many tattered beings. It is extremely fulfilling. Because I am now a wife and mom of three, my understanding of people and what they need to thrive has so much more clarity.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I always quote the poem “Mother to Son” by Langston Hughes: “Life for me ain’t been no crystal stair.” Although every battle has contributed to my growth, it was definitely troublesome. My father was in prison for the majority of my life so being raised by a very young single mom had its setbacks. I wasn’t really taught how to do a lot of the things I aspired to do. I had to learn them all on my own, I had to build myself all by myself. That’s what made it so rewarding! I always felt that the only thing I had complete control over was my mind, my heart and my spirit and I have worked very hard to cleanse and strengthen all three.

Please tell us more about what you do, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
The Unicornfairylovechild podcast/channel is an embodiment of what I seek to give the world. We live in a separatist realm and when we operate in a “one without the other” mindset, we lose so much. Religion has transcended centuries, spirituality was here before religion had a name and it is all around us, science can be proven on paper, mental health and the power of positive thought circles back to all three. It is my goal to help others understand that living in the light isn’t impossible if you understand the connections between the things that make living more than existing.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Knowing who I am and what I am capable of is most important to my success. Knowledge of self (your whole complete self and all the powers you possess) can be soul changing.
