Meet Caleb Coleman of Uptrend Video Productions in North Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Caleb Coleman.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
After graduating from UNT over a decade ago, I worked at several production companies and corporations, producing TV commercials and training videos. Five years ago, I decided to open my own company focused on cutting out the bloat and expense of video production. My objective is providing high quality videos at affordable prices, allowing my clients to produce multiple videos.

The current marketing landscape is “constant content”. There’s so much clamor that you need to rise above the fray. My clients can afford to produce multiple videos about several subjects which gain immediate results.

One time, I was hired as second cameraman on a shoot with a former employer. Before one frame was shot, the big company’s generators failed- rendering their equipment useless. I pulled out my equipment and we finished the shoot ahead of schedule.

That experience formed the mission of my company.

Has it been a smooth road?
The biggest struggle is working with clients that might not be familiar with current digital marketing trends and how much video is a part of that. They have these preconceived notions that I have to counter.

I’m also constantly hiring video editors and designers. Not because of turnover- but because of different projects that arise. And I need a certain level of experience.

But I never forget that I was once a recent grad without much experience. And honestly, some of the best work has come from individuals I’ve trained from scratch.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Uptrend Video Productions – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Uptrend Productions produces digital video content for TV, Social Media, training and corporate communications. We’re known for bringing a creative approach and wanting to make every project the best it can be. No matter the budget.

Our clients keep saying how laid back we are, and how easy we are to work with. That’s probably one of the best compliments I could want. Producing a creative video is hard enough without adding egos and pretentiousness. I love that our clients see us as partners who they can explore the creative barriers with.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Dallas seems to be growing not so much geographically but culturally. The surrounding metroplex- Frisco, Addison, Plano- are all experiencing a surge of business and after work scenes. “Mini-Deep Ellums” that accentuate artistry and industry.

Living in Dallas has always been hard. And it doesn’t seem to be getting easier. To have a vibrant community you need all types of people to live there. Not just the wealthy. That’s what’s plaguing San Francisco and New York right now.

Pricing:

  • Our client’s budgets have run from $200-$2,000, depending on the type of videos.
