Today we’d like to introduce you to Camie Bolin.
Camie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am a wife of an amazingly supportive husband and I have 3 handsome young men. I have always had a deep passion for photography but never had the tools to peruse it until one year for Christmas my husband and mother went in together to buy me my first camera.
At first, I did fun stuff taking photos of my boys playing and doing family photos for some of my friends when everyone kept asking why I was not doing it for a career I finally decided to take that huge leap out of corporate America and straight into what makes me happy. I am blessed to have had it turn out to be a very successful career from shooting photos of my boys to doing tons of family, seniors, babies to weddings and I have also been published in multiple magazines and been on the radio and a few news stations for a crazy deer photobombing incident. 🙂
Not many can say they truly do what they love and are able to make a career out of it. Thank you to my handsome husband who I would be nothing without, he is my rock and the only reason I had the confidence to be where I am today. One of the many reasons I love photography so much is being able to take something that everyone sees as simple and making it become magical. There are so many endless possibilities with photography and I love it!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It isn’t always easy. You have some learning experiences that make you better and no one is perfect so there for learning is growing.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Xo Yours Truly Photography – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Ha! I do pretty much everything. I love people so working with all walks of life is always fun for me. I’ve met a lot of different types of people because of this. But if I had to choose what kind of sessions are my absolute favorite, I would have to say Glamour & Boudoir. I have had many girls come to me saying oh I could never do that kind of shoot because I need to lose weight or I’m not pretty enough and I talk them into it and when they get the whole day of pampering and having someone do their makeup and hair and make them feel beautiful and then see the photos I’ve had so many women cry happy tears and thank me for showing them just how stunning they truly are no matter what shape or size. Melts my heart every time. I am most proud that I dove in and made things happen and took the leap it was the best decision I have ever made. The only thing I could say that would set me apart from most is I have been told I make people instantly feel comfortable and it feels like they have known me for years by the end of our shoot.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My Goals are to eventually open a Boudoir Studio during the week but on the weekends, be a Wedding Venue. and then after that, venture Only do High-End Fashion & Just Modeling Photography.
