Today we’d like to introduce you to Carlos Mendoza.
Carlos, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I initially went to college for business administration because I wanted to start my own clothing line business. Once I graduated I picked up a camera thinking just for personal use for the clothing line but I go to an event, practice shooting and editing and send footage to Z Star Rock and she took me under her wing. I got into the visual field and worked for her for few months and met up with Real Lyfe Street Starz and start working with them.
After that I started meeting new people and going out more and coming out of my shell. I decided to hit every event and learned different skills. I walked away from Real Lyfe but they’re still family. I just felt like doing visuals was not the only thing I wanted to do, my name is Creative Los for a reason. I slowly started building a team of entertainers and talented people and different business play as well. From going out to clubs and getting my audience grown to pushing through social media pushing content and getting feed-back from blue checks, business and other entertainers I became one of the main plugs when it comes to turning up a location, getting them crowds, or even workers. I consider myself a jack of all trades but actually good at the majority of what I learn.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
A lot of snakes and fake energies. A lot of people who try to take advantage and try to manipulate me for my position, especially since I’m pretty young for the industry. A lot of places are trying to play me off my money and connections just cus of age. Stuff like that.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Visuals/director, management, business creator, writer, dancer, host, promotions, and designer. I’m known to be turned up at most spots I got to and able to have a good eye for visuals and creating ideas for certain music or concepts. I’m always working even when I’m not, I got a team of 20+ talents and I don’t charge them not a single penny because at the end of the day if you got the talents and I got the means to help imma show you the way now your talent has to take you there.
How do you think about happiness?
Music and some friends. They let me escape reality. I used to suffer a lot from depression and anxiety but now I’m able to overcome it. The few times that they do catch up I just play some music, talk to somebody and let my mind go.
