Carmelita, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hi! I am Carmelita Dickson, CEO of Mirror Image Consulting, LLC. I am a licensed beauty professional and college graduate. After working in corporate America for over 13 years, I decided that working to build someone’s brand would not only leave me stagnant but also dictate my earning potential. I soon realized if I apply that same business acumen into my own business, I would no longer limit myself. In 2015, I enrolled in Paul Mitchell the School Dallas, where Mirror Image Consulting, LLC was birthed.
Mirror Image Consulting, LLC is a luxury image consulting agency. Our goal is to help individuals and businesses identify and portray their personal brand while maintaining continuity of their image. Mirror Image Consulting core values reflect success, integrity and professionalism. We know that success happens when preparation meets opportunity. Our team of licensed professionals helps you arrive at each new milestone with the poise and confidence that can only come from looking your best. Luxury Image Hair is the cosmetology and beauty division of Mirror Image Consulting. Together both entities offer a comprehensive package to suit any individual looking to recreate their image. Since putting my trust in God as it pertains to my business, my life has completely changed. He has removed all limitations and has continued to bless my steps as I walk in my purpose of instilling confidence in those who lack it, one image at a time!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Some challenges I have faced along the way I would have to say, trying to make that shift once the pandemic hit. I realize that I need to add a layer to my business that was digital and pandemic proof. I launched my global luxury hair extensions website. In 2018, I went on an Indian hair tour where I visited over 30 hair extension factories and temples. After doing extensive research on the best hair temples and factories, I started my global hair company, where I now have wholesalers in South Africa, Singapore and the US.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a luxury retail wardrobe stylist and licensed cosmetologist. I specialize in all things beauty. My impeccable eye for fashion is what sets me apart from the pack. I pride myself on finding unique and rare pieces that are timeless and are consider an investment. I’m trendsetter and always make sure I leaving a last impression that is unforgettable.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I am a college-educated and have a Bachelors of Science in Biological Sciences. I graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
