Today we’d like to introduce you to Carol Pankratz.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Growing up on a small farm in the middle of the country, I was very sheltered, but made my way to University and finished five years to receive a Master of Arts degree. Creating beauty and balance in my surroundings has always been most important, so combining art and architecture was a perfect choice. I quickly realized that working in an office wasn’t for me and circumstances allowed me the time to experiment with many different products and artistic materials. Already knowing the language of design it was natural to work with designers to provide decorative art and finishes for their clients, from patterns and murals to premium wood finishes… and even custom wall covering created specifically for that special room.
As styles change in the field of interior design, I have found a passion for creating fine art, thus, adding to the range of options for clients.
Being in that inner world of inspiration and creation while also handling mundane necessities and details is my strength.
Has it been a smooth road?
I think the struggles have been typical of working for oneself in the creative field. Wearing every hat while staying inspired and energized.

I enjoy working on art commissions whether large or small. I like the process of working with others or taking an initial direction and then working to completion on my own.
My knowledge of finish materials and products along with a background in color theory makes me an asset to any design project. The ability to change and keep learning with an open mind I find to be most important!

Yes, I believe Dallas provides many opportunities for artists, young and experienced too.
