Today we’d like to introduce you to Caroline Frontera and Erin Montante.
Caroline and Erin, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Picture Park was co-created by two long-time friends that both love design, photography and artful things. We wanted to somehow combine those loves into a business we could open and share together. As we would each be out and about doing things in the city, we noticed every cool wall or painted door was being converted into a backdrop for a great Instagram pic. Seeing this repeatedly, combined with hearing about some of the Installation Museums on the East and West coasts, nudged us to launch Picture Park.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
We both have other entrepreneurial businesses, but Picture Park has been different! We were starting from scratch conceptually and creatively. It was a labor of love, time and blisters to launch! Our biggest hurdle was locating the perfect space for the studio. After months, and I mean months, of searching, an opportunity opened up at Mockingbird Station that was the perfect fit for us!
Please tell us about Picture Park Studio.
Picture Park Studio is an Instagrammable Photo Studio outfitted with over 15 creative installations to stroll through and snap unique pictures. The best part? You are the creative director! Use props from different vignettes around the studio to create the image or Boomerang you want for your memories or Insta feed! Not feeling so creative? That’s Ok! Our incredibly friendly team is here to help!
One of the elements to our experience that most sets us apart is the diversity within the studio installations. There are whimsical, fun rooms like our Bouffant Beauty Bar (decked out with salon chairs, velcro rollers, and 50’s magazines) that make for super fun images, but if you are recently engaged, in search of the perfect family picture or looking to take Quinceañera portraits, we have gorgeous flower walls for a more elegant look. We also have four dressing rooms and encourage wardrobe changes!
We also host a multitude of private events, from kids’ birthday parties to bridal showers and even corporate, team building events!
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Ha- Well, it’s always good to plan for double the budget!
