Today we’d like to introduce you to Casey Clymer.
Casey, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
As a little girl growing up, I would often end up doing my friends hair for fun. I know, that sounds like a total disaster, but I was actually pretty good at it! My best friend growing up would go to the store and buy the hair color products then we would spend hours in my parents’ bathroom trying to get the color right, it was so much fun!
After finishing cosmetology school, I went to work at one of the higher end salons in area. The experience that I received working at my first salon helped me refine my skills and provided a foundation for my future success.
After building a solid, 8-year career in Oklahoma City, I decided in 2012 to take the plunge and move down to Dallas. I felt that Metroplex was the best place for me to take my career to the next level. Shortly after arriving in Dallas, I was able to land a position at one of the most prestigious salons in the area where I was able to focus specifically on my passion for color.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The biggest obstacle I have faced in my career so far was starting over in a new city with no clientele. While the struggle to start over was definitely scary, I feel moving was the best decision I ever made! With hard work and determination, I have built an amazing list of loyal clients who I am eternally grateful for.
Color By Casey Clymer – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I work out of the J. Grace salon in Highland Park as a color specialist. J. Grace is committed to continuing education and encouraging the true artistry and creativity of its stylists. We love what we do and whom we do it with. We work hard, but have fun doing it. Our team is built on this core value: work hard and treat every client like they are your only client. J. Grace has rounded up Dallas’ best in one place.
I have had extensive training and the pleasure of learning from many educational companies, which include Toni and Guy, Kérastase, Oribe, Shu Uemura, L’Oreal, Schwarzkopf, Davines and Redken. I specialize in enhancing one’s natural beauty by choosing the perfect shade to compliment skin tone, creating a beautiful end result for my clients. You can find my talent on former CBS reporter, Whitney Drolen, as well as world-renowned fashion blogger, Jane Aldridge. I also specialize in high quality smoothing treatments.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success for me is very simple, making people happy. When someone leaves my chair smiling and thrilled with how they look, I have had a great day!
