Today we’d like to introduce you to Cee Rich.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Cee. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
After being uprooted from my Hometown New Orleans in 2005 Hurricane Katrina, I was lost & didn’t know what direction I was going in. I knew I did not want to return to New Orleans, I wanted to create a foundation in Dallas, I had just completed my Associate’s in Applied Science/Paralegal, Private Investigator. The school I attended promised it was criminal justice program, turned out it wasn’t, I stayed. I quickly learned that all that I had learned was not valid in Dallas so I attended Southeastern Career Institutions for their Paralegal program. After completing, I started my internship at the Jackson Law Firm, after my internship I discovered there was so much life in me that I could not share with the world begin behind a desk. At the time, I had to fulltime jobs in between. I was working with special needs overnight & evenings after work and pt hustling doing hair. So, I decided to take a refresher course at Velma B’s Beauty College Dallas, Tx. It was very hard trying to find myself, juggle Bills & end a bad relationship, start a new journey. I will admit that after making up my mind to stay in Dallas after Hurricane Katrina, I still was lost and didn’t have any direction. I ask God to send the right people to my path.
After completing my refresher, I had switched jobs and applied to become a Hairstylist at Smart style salon, I was hired and two months after that I was promoted to store manager of my own store, I was overwhelmed & overworked & underpaid for three years for a company that did not value their staff. I left & started Hairotic Love Studio, I stepped out on faith not knowing if I would fail. I saved money, paid my Salon Suite up for about a month. Being a new business owner of my own had ups & downs but I was blessed with getting to know a lot of powerful women who help me along the way. It’s been six years now, I have expanded with two suites and 2019, Launched my Haircare Products Hairotic Love Haircare. My journey is not over, The Cee Rich Experience has been such a blessing that I’m able to give back to the community. Feeding the homeless at least every holiday & providing bag blessings for the winter, also donations to the Women & Children Shelter.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I will admit changing flaws in your business two times a year had its ups & downs. The transition of making it smooth with online booking, policy, and procedures. Some clients didn’t agree with online booking & secure deposits, but after a while, it all fell in place.
Please tell us about Hairotic Love Studio.
Hairotic Love Studio provides Hair Care Services, Specialize in Trending Color, Cuts & Styles, Hair installs, Braids and peace of mind. My salon is an appointment only, the ladies get to enjoy one on one time. My # priority is healthy hair, Time my clients don’t wait, they are in & out Relaxer Cut Style in 1hr &30mins. Women are busy with work, children and just all the responsibilities of being an adult. When they come to the salon, they can relax with a glass of wine. Proud moment when I was able to give my clients what they have been asking for… my very own hair care products. What set me apart from others is that I care about their overall health because internally, if you’re not healthy, it will show in their appearance… meaning Hair, Skin & Nails. They love that they don’t sit in the salon for an 8hr shift.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory would be to see my Grandmother & Mother never give up on people.
