Meet Chancy Green of Inflation Celebrations in Frisco

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chancy Green.

Chancy, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am the founder of a small, unique inflatable yard greeting business serving Frisco, TX and surrounding communities called Inflation Celebrations. I am the proud Frisco mom to three very active young girls (14, 13 and 10 years old) which are ultimately the reason I dreamed up this business which provides a supplemental income with flexibility to be involved in their lives. Jayson, my husband of 17 years, lovingly supports what I call my inflatable obsession. When our first born daughter turned one, Grandpa showed up at our home with a 6′ birthday inflatable (similar to the ones used today!). That was the start of a great tradition…. each year, I would put the birthday inflatable in the front yard to celebrate each member of our family’s special day. As our family grew, so did the number of appearances of the birthday inflatable in our front yard. Friends and neighbors would delight in seeing the inflatable go up throughout the year so that they could take part in the celebration! You can imagine the joy in the children’s faces upon waking up on their birthday and seeing the giant inflatable sitting in the front yard in their honor (my husband and I enjoyed the tradition on our special days as well, if truth be told). As time went on, I began to sneak over to neighbor’s yards in the early morning hours to surprise their kids with the birthday cake inflatable as well. I loved seeing the excitement and the joy that could be had from this simple inflatable in the yard! It became the talk of the neighborhood and a great way to connect with others. Family pictures were taken in front of the inflatable and memories were being made…. this was just too good to keep to ourselves….so Inflation Celebrations was born offering a new niche and fun way to celebrate life’s special moments!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Business has grown primarily through word of mouth and greatly because of social media. Growth is great but success does have its disadvantages. As the owner and sole employee, the biggest obstacle/challenge is taking a day off. I never like to turn away a customer so planning a vacation or simply sleeping in is a rare occasion. I truly reap personal satisfaction from my work, when I see photos of the recipient with their special delivery, it makes every early morning or late evening pick up worthwhile!

Utilizing an e-commerce site is the way to go! In the beginning, I generated invoices on my own utilizing PayPal. Since I love spreading joy and was grateful for every opportunity to do so, I now realize how generous I was being with discounts for friends and existing customers. I don’t regret doing so because I think personal connections were crucial to growing my business. However, I now realize after creating a full functioning website that my time is so valuable. Creating an automated system to do the scheduling and accept payments has been a business changer. Additionally, there are definitely perks to this business like being able to jump out of bed, brush my teeth and go make deliveries in my pajama pants (hardly anyone is out and about before 6:30 am). A hard lesson learned though is that it is best not to wear flip flops. Dog droppings are often a hazard of this job!

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Inflation Celebrations – what should we know?
Inflation Celebrations offer a unique and fun way to celebrate any special occasion whether it be a birthday, a new baby, graduation or just simply brightening someone’s day! Inflation Celebrations will deliver one of our specialty air-blown inflatables right to that special someone’s home for a one day rental (or more if requested). The inflatable will be set up before sunrise and disappear just after sundown. Inflation Celebrations ties a post card with a custom message from you to the front door with each inflatable. The company has partnered with Terry’s Donuts of Frisco, too. A box of “Happy Birthday” donuts has been a favorite “add-on” option for customers. Donuts are picked up at 5:30 am and delivered to the doorstep. The recipient wakes up in the morning with their first greeting of the day and it is even more special when they wake up to hot, fresh donuts. People of ALL ages love receiving these special greetings! Inflation Celebrations loves helping people spread cheer and makes it so easy for customers to reserve their date! With very little effort on the customer’s part, they are surely providing the recipient a gift from the heart.

We serve Frisco, TX and surrounding communities and have expanded business to an area where I used to live in Overland Park, KS and surrounding communities. Customers rave about our customer service (for example: how an extension cord is run properly without causing a tripping hazard), we usually deliver and pick up without even being seen, much less even making homeowners dogs bark. Our price point is intentionally affordable as we do not want to be known simply for those onetime special occasions —we also love the opportunity to grow along with our customers who celebrate a birthday year after year. As a Mom of three children myself, I know what I am already spending on gifts, parties, goody bags, etc. This is just another special way of acknowledging someone’s special day whether it be a birthday, arrival of a new baby, congratulations, or showing the “party is here!” People often say, I bet your deliveries are mostly for kids. That is not the case—some of the most touching stories I have heard about the reactions from my customers are the recipients that don’t need or even want a gift but love that someone acknowledged them in a memorable way.
