Meet Chandler Cooper of Cleburne

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chandler Cooper.

Hi Chandler, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started off making music with my friends in middle school, I found hiphop and fell in love with story telling. I was making little youtube videos with my friends at this point already and realized I could do both to make people hear my music. I really sought out to be a jack of all trades with everything being able to breathe life into my music. I wanted to show my creativity in the YouTube videos and express myself through songwriting.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I think the biggest struggle was just being talked down to by my peers. I’m from Cleburne and knew no one in entertainment. This is not supposed to happen for me. I would say for the most part, I don’t have a story of struggle. Just a story of failures being looked at by my young naive self as “ways to not create a lightbulb”

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m most known for my social media accounts where I market myself in a way that makes my music a “shock”. That’s where I excel.
My comedy has always been a “you need a mindless laugh. Let me give it to you” and if you choose to hear my music it’s more of a look behind the curtain. Sort of a “why did you need that laugh? I see you” kind of thing.

I think what sets me apart from other artists is my art isn’t something I cut corners on. My presence online is sloppy, point, and shoot. No thought. My music is thought provoking and honest. The difference is, I have fought for my music to be the way it is for years in rooms where some people admittedly know more than me but I know my music better than them. Once I stop having that connection with the music, I’d quit music. It’s what fuels me.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
You can not trust people but still be kind
