Today we’d like to introduce you to Chandler Hatchett.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was diagnosed with an autoimmune deficiency in 2009 that made me change my lifestyle, diet and exercise regimen, turning towards a holistic and natural approach to living in order to keep my symptoms at bay. Over the next 5 years, my life drastically changed for the better as I navigated this new lifestyle, being mindful of what I filled my body, home and heart with. It was in this revelation that the heart of The H is For… was born.
The H is For… aims to inspire, encourage and equip women to live well in all aspects of life. This means being mindful in how you’re growing physically, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually. I started preparing the blog in 2014 and launched it in April 2015. This was a huge step of courage for me but one that has been an incredible blessing in my life!
Has it been a smooth road?
Honestly, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. From the outside in, starting and maintaining a blog looks easy but there’s SO MUCH WORK that goes into it. I wasn’t fully prepared for the level of commitment that running this brand would require of me but I’m so glad, I’ve stuck it out because it’s led to some incredible relationships and revelations! Sure, there are times that running a blog [which is a full-time gig], running a family and working a full-time job gets overwhelming but I love that, I have this outlet for myself! It’s now an extension of who I am and what I do.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the The H is For… story. Tell us more about the business.
As a Christian, I want to live as Jesus lived. The Bible says that Jesus grew, “in wisdom, in stature, in favor with God and in favor with man.” To me, this is the perfect model for a well-rounded life that is pursuing improvements and growth in every aspect.
I decided to take that model and apply it to the modern-day, millennial woman. There are five aspects of life that I focus on growing in:
HEALTHY LIVING – Living well through clean eating, exercise and personal wellness.
HOME MAKING – Living well through caring for your home, filling it with love and opening it to others.
HAUTE MAMA – Living well by taking pride in life’s blessings through day-to-day fashion and beauty.
HAPPY BABY – Living well through parenting with intention, love and encouragement from other moms.
HEART WARMING – Living well through pursuing the best in relationships with friends, family and God.
I believe that living well is only achieved when you strive to grow in every area of your life. The H is For… blog focuses on making the most out of the lives we are given and striving to live well in all aspects of it.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Right now, I’m focusing on providing tangible resources for women who are looking to grow in various aspects of their lives. I recently published a 31-day devotional through the book of Proverbs, which hopefully serves as a great foundation for starting the habit of seeking wisdom daily through scripture. I’m also booking speaking engagements and am providing wellness workshops for those looking to start living a healthier lifestyle.
