Today we’d like to introduce you to Chaney Elaine.
Chaney, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My current band, Rainier., started when my old band had broken up. The drummer, Spencer Trinidad, and I wanted to keep making music and keep on performing while we weren’t committed to any bands yet. We decided to keep it a two-person band and play a style of music that you don’t hear from a lot of bands in this scene.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Yes and no. At first, we struggled with what our sound, goal, and vision were going to be. At that time, our sound was something completely different than what we have today. But once we figured all of that out, everything was a smooth ride. Along the way, we do both have our own separate main projects, which sometimes makes it hard to do Rainier. But we’re staying committed and going with the flow.
Please tell us about your music.
Well, Rainier. is a very poppy alternative style that you don’t hear quite often. I sing and write lyrics in the band as well as be the front-woman. I specialize in singing, which I have been doing since I was in elementary school. I guess I could be known for my singing and for the energy I put out when we play shows. I am proud of how far we’ve come in just a year. We went from people not knowing who we are to making friends and being recognized sometimes at other shows. What I think sets us apart from others is honestly our sound and how we go about playing our shows.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory was going into the extra room we had at the house I grew up in and always practiced my singing and pretending like I was performing on stage.
