Meet Charissa Christopher of Feastivities Gourmet-to-Go & Catering in Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Charissa Christopher.

Feastivities was established in 1988 as a catering company. Feastivities Catering was founded by Julie Weber and Tish Baird in November of 1988. A year later, at the urging of loyal customers, they doubled the size of their operation and expanded into the Gourmet-To-Go business.

In 1999, Ms. Weber sold Feastivities to longtime employee and good friend Charissa Christopher and Feastivities became what it is today. Feastivities provides an important service to a diverse array of customers, from families who need a quick delicious dish for dinner, to those searching for a no fuss solution to their large party or gathering. The food selections in the market include dinner entrees, side dishes, salads and fresh baked breads. Seasonal gift items, frozen hors d’oeuvres, and holiday dinners are also available.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being in business for 20 plus years, there are always ups and downs. Our original location on Locke Avenue became too small in the early 2000s, and we went searching for a new location that would fit our unique needs, and at the same time, being more convenient for our clientele. While the search was at times disappointing, we could not be more thrilled with our current location on West Vickery Blvd, just south of the cultural district and just north of Texas Christian University.

Feastivities Gourmet-to-Go & Catering – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Feastivities continues to strive to be on top of the trends in the culinary world today, as well as providing classic dishes that families know and love. We cater to our clients’ needs and go above and beyond every day to make sure that their experience is the absolute best! We are proud to be Fort Worth bred and Fort Worth supported for over 25 years and we look forward to many more years of serving the best that Fort Worth has to offer.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
One of the proudest moments in my career was seeing my grandmother’s favorite recipes become packaged items that we sell in our market. Jeddy was a caring and exceedingly unique woman who I had admired since childhood. My memories of her revolve around the dishes she prepared and the grace with which she served them. I could not think of a better way to honor her than sharing two of my favorites with my customers. Jeddy’s Pickles and Jeddy’s Jelly are created in the spirit of love, hospitality, and family gatherings that Jeddy enjoyed so much. She lived her life welcoming others to her table and sharing her love of food; I keep her in the back of my mind as I prepare food for our customers.
