Meet Chef Benjamin Leggitte

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chef Benjamin Leggitte.

Chef , can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
In 2008 I went from working at McDonald’s as my 1st job in Montgomery, AL to years later cooking on a cruise ship in Honolulu, Hawaii to then being a chef for Gordon Ramsay in Hell’s Kitchen in Las Vegas, NV and now in 2020 being a certified private chef/business owner for my own chef brand/chef business in Dallas, TX.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Honestly it has not been easy there has been plenty of days in my career where I have really had to push myself to the limit But no matter what I have always stayed focus on the prize at the end of each day and now as I look back every single day was worth it because each ounce of hard work helped me get to where I am now.

The chef Benjamin Brand – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
The chef Benjamin brand has always been something I have always wanted to start since I began my culinary career I never thought I would go from working at McDonald’s flipping burgers to working for Gordon Ramsay in Hell’s Kitchen to being a certified private chef and having my own chef brand now… the chef Benjamin brand specializes in exclusive private dinners and my new signature pineapple bang boat which is getting a lot of attention in Dallas and social media. I’m most proud of the fact that I’m living my dream in real time. What sets me apart from other chefs is that each dish I create has my hard work and expertise in every single dish I make I’m truly serving my clients a dish that they will talk about after they leave the dinner table.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment to me beside starting my own chef brand definitely had to be when I met Gordon Ramsay in person in Hell’s Kitchen it was awesome because he’s my idol in the culinary field and to meet him let me know wow he started from the bottom and worked his way to the top in the culinary world and so could I so that motivated me even more to create my own brand.
