Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsea McGraw.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Chelsea. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
At a young age, I did not know what interior design was, but I did know I loved to constantly repaint my bedroom walls, rearrange furniture, and play in my life-size dollhouse that my grandfather made for me, I was raised among a family of makers and creative types. My grandfather, a carpenter, built our childhood home and designed highly detailed furniture. His creativity, talent, and attention to detail influenced me throughout my life.
My mom is naturally skilled at anything and everything creative. I have countless stories from my childhood of her taking on different projects herself, such as tiling our bathroom, re-texturing walls, or painting cabinets. Her ingenuity and ability to tackle anything she set her mind to is so inspiring to me and always will be. Based on my family and experiences, I knew I wanted to have a career in the creative field. I pursued a degree in interior design at Texas Christian University, but it wasn’t until my internships that I solidified my passion for residential design.
I worked in the industry for several years and gained so much knowledge and experience. Eventually, God had a plan for me and it was the perfect opportunity to go out on my own and start Chelsea Morgan Designs. I learned from watching my father owned his own business that taking that leap and becoming my own boss as possible. I’m so thankful for my family, the things they’ve taught me, and their ongoing encouragement, which has led me to where I am today.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Is there such a thing as a smooth road when opening your own business? Bumps in the road are inevitable! I believe that God puts every trial in my life for a reason and I wouldn’t change a thing about how I got here. Sometimes I’ve had to adapt quickly to a new path, but it always works out better than I could have imagined.

Chelsea Morgan Designs is an interior design studio in Fort Worth, Texas focused on offering residential interior design services. At CMD, our goal is to work with you in creating spaces that reflect the uniqueness of you and your family.
Clients depend on us for timeless designs that can evolve with your family and inspire your future design decisions and choices. We hope to heighten your everyday life with playful but sophisticated comfort that brings together form, function and beauty. A well-designed space can affect a family in a tremendous way.
