Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsea Sanchez.
Hi Chelsea, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Star Graze Boards started as just a fun idea for a styled shoot for my business partner, Nicole, and myself. We had started a wedding and event planning company, CBNK Weddings & Events, about a year prior to this styled shoot and wanted to feature a charcuterie table within the styled shoot. After struggling to find a caterer willing to participate in the shoot, Nicole and I decided to do the grazing table ourselves. We fell in love with the whole process and honestly surprised ourselves with how the table turned out. Shortly after we decided to start Star Graze Boards and began by offering charcuterie boxes, boards, and grazing tables to the Dallas – Fort Worth Metroplex. After being established for a little over a year now, we decided to really focus on the catering side and rebrand the company to better serve our customers. We have adjusted our day-to-day menu and added a variety of additional items that can easily be added to any grazing table. We’re currently working towards reaching our goal of eventually opening up a Star Graze Boards storefront that will allow customers to come grab quick snacks, pick up boards, and scheduled consultations for larger events throughout the day.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like any new small business, we have faced challenges along the way. Establishing our brand and presence within the Dallas-Fort Worth community was and continues to be a struggle. We do our best to stay as relevant as possible and make sure that our boxes, boards, and grazing table aesthetic is customizable for every customer.
Recently, another struggle has been dealing with the cost of product increasing. We try to stay competitive with our pricing but have had to make some adjustments to accommodate for these increases.
The biggest struggle so far has been learning how to maneuver both Nicole and I starting the year off pregnant and having our sons back-to-back this past June. We have really had to make sure we’re communicating and delegating tasks throughout this new journey.
As you know, we’re big fans of Star Graze Boards LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Star Graze Boards LLC is a locally owned charcuterie company that offers individual cups, boxes, boards, and grazing tables, appetizers, and drink packages for any social or corporate event. We recently made some changes that provide a variety of options that can cater to everyone’s needs. We specialize in Flat Lay or our Styled & Layered grazing tables but offer so much more than just traditional charcuterie grazing tables like brunch, dessert, and appetizer tables. We pride ourselves on how much time and energy we put into each item we sell and making sure that the aesthetic matches each customer’s vision. We absolutely love being creative and pushing the boundaries and are always willing to take on new challenges.
We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Unless you already know who Nicole and I are, then you probably don’t know that we actually met in high school. It actually wasn’t until later, once we were adults with children, that we really reconnected and decided one day while sitting on Nicole’s couch that we wanted to start our own business, which eventually turned into businesses. The biggest driving factor was wanting to create a lifestyle where we were able to focus on and provide for our families without sacrificing all of the little moments parents tend to miss out on with your children when you work a normal 9-5 job.
