Today we’d like to introduce you to Cherrell Green.
Cherrell, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Since 2015, I’ve been working to create generational wealth for my family that will last a lifetime. I’ve tried numerous business ventures that have ended in great success. I set out to begin my trucking business journey in November 2018. I hit so many roadblocks along the way due to my lack of knowledge about this industry, coupled with my refusal to go to trucking school to learn the skill set. As time passed, I became more knowledgeable and found the confidence to go through the industry. In 2020, all the pieces came together. We are now fully running and doing so successfully. There is so much beauty in NEVER quitting. NEVER giving up. NEVER letting the echos of negativity stop me. NEVER letting the sound of “no” keep me from my “Yes” that was around the corner.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. Actually, it’s been everything but smooth. I relocated back to my home state (Mississippi) for a year, in an effort to mind shift and work on my business plan for a launch there. My plan in mind was to to be multi-state run, running the business in both Mississippi and Texas. I struggled everyday thinking this wasn’t for me and that running a business 6 hours away was insane. I was not in favor of the negative criticism (cons if you will) that so many around me shared about the running and owning of a trucking business. Even more, I felt discouraged when getting turned down for leasing a truck because I didn’t have my CDL. Not only was I discouraged but I felt a great deal of defeat. I felt confused and somewhat angry. Everything that leads to the felling and thoughts of just wanting to give up. I ultimately decided that my plans for being Mississippi based would not yield for success the way I knew it would in Texas, so I decide that I’d journey back to the place where I know the resources were unlimited and could aide me in landing where I knew I needed to do so. Here I am back in Dallas, TX!
Please tell us about October 31st Trucking.
I own a trucking business. My business is named in honor of my daughter’s birthday. We haul loads that require a flatbed trail. I’m most proud of the fact that my business is run just a big business. We have benefits, bonuses, and much more.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Dallas is the best place to have a trucking business, and any business desired. You can always find loads available in the Dallas area. I would recommend Dallas to any person/family/group starting a business. The opportunities are endless. I love Dallas for providing so many ways to be successful. To live out dreams and be the reason another person dreams are fulfilled. Dallas has been home to me since 2015 and I’ve thrived year after year. I’m forever grateful for all that Dallas has been to and for me. Dallas Forever!
