Meet Chirag Sainju of Chirag Sainju Art Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chirag Sainju.

Chirag, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
“Apple didn’t fall too far from the tree,” Says a Nepalese woman, my mom. My inspiration mostly comes from my father. My Father is one of the greatest photographers of his times. I am merely a shadow of him, trying to follow his footstep.

When I was sixteen, mother gifted me my first camera, I was going on a field trip. She said, “Take pictures so I can see the world through your eyes.” The field trip pictures was a hit in my community. Thus, the journey began.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Chang is always hard. Moving away from my comfort zone, Nepal to absolutely challenging world. The United States of America trying to build a career enough to support and to strive to be the best, has not been easy as you all can imagine.

I have always photographed people around me. These people, one day who have dedicated and contributed their life to shape the times we live in, so we could look back in time the exact reflection of their history, who they are, their society, their culture through my pictures. I believe we are making history every day and it should be documented so future generation can know the history where they will be living in.

In college, I was the photojournalist for the college magazine. My photography received National Recognition and dozens of awards and honorable mentions in different categories in Photography. My photographs have been published in various Websites like Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART), and News media like Dallas Morning News. I was hired as the assistant for the photography instructor at the College.

I also am blessed to get a chance to work for many local and national level magazines like The Maine Antique Digest, Star-Telegram, and Fort Worth Weekly, Park Cities People, Preston Hollow People, the News Register, and Duck Soup.

Chirag Sainju Art Photography – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I am a photographer. I build memories for people of their milestones. Their birthdays, wedding, baby showers, celebrations. Besides this event photography, I also do photojournalism, sports magazine, corporate photography, editorials etc.

I am very attached to photography and my photography has its own uniqueness. I like to leave behind my photography footprint as one that the world can look at and see the beauty of its own. The world is beautiful and Photography is one way you can remind today’s world that we are still beautiful and life worthy.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is when you compete with your better self and still win and then yet compete with the winner. If you will…
