Thanks for sharing your story with us Chris. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Like all great stories, it all started over some social libations and good conversation. So last year about this time, a good friend and I were sharing stories over bourbon when I mentioned starting a t-shirt business with some crowd source funding. A few more drinks into the night, we had decided we would just jump into it together. From there the name Tayhoss Designs was born. We jumped right in creating some hats, and over the past year we have evolved into an on and off course, golf apparel company, with our sights set on growing into some Texas inspired gear and local sports-inspired gear as well. For now, we’re focused on golf t-shirts and golf hats, with some honoring some of our favorite local and Texas golf legends.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would say it has been quite the learning curve. Learning about the apparel business has been interesting. Figuring out production times, material sourcing, etc., has been the most challenging part of the ride. The design and social aspect just come naturally, though.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Tayhoss Designs – what should we know?
We are an on and off course golf apparel company. We specialize in vintage and traditional golf hats, and golf and local sports inspired t-shirts. We also offer some specialized stickers for those not into wearing clothes.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
We are of the mindset that we need to be flexible and have the ability to adapt with the changing of culture.
