Meet Chris Brown of Arlington Elite Training

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Brown.

Hi Chris, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve played sports most of my life, and I always knew I wanted to coach/teach at some point. I’ve always enjoyed working out and going to the gym so in 2008 while working at a law firm in Dallas, I decided to shift course and started working at 24hr fitness as a membership counselor. After about 2yrs as a counselor, I decided to become a personal trainer. While training I started coaching my son’s soccer and football teams. I worked at 24hr fitness for about 7yrs before I decided to strike out on my own as an independent trainer. That’s when Arlington Elite Training was born! I started doing small boot camps at a park a couple days out the week and on Saturday mornings. As I progressed through my training, I started noticing that I loved the strength training aspect of fitness so I focused in on that. With my son being a 3-sport athlete and wanting for him to perform well I noticed that there was a need for youth/young athletes to learn proper technique and form when it came to lifting and training So I focused in on that as well.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely was and has not been a smooth road! I’ve had hardships along the way. From moving from the big box gym, to contract training at someone else’s gym, to finding my own space for what I do. You run the risk of losing clients (which I did) when you make certain moves and decisions but it’s all necessary when trying to position yourself to be successful.

We’ve been impressed with Arlington Elite Training, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a personal trainer/coach. I specialize in strength/weight training and S.A.Q. (Speed Agility & Quickness) I think what I’m mostly known for (outside of my hoodie! lol) is my attention to technique/form and also my youth training. I think what sets me apart is that I have the patience to teach and connect with the young athlete. Most times these kids play sports at school and coaches don’t have the time or patience to reach a kid because of time restrictions and numbers but I’m able to keep my numbers small enough to give each athlete/client I work with their own personal session to focus in on their particular needs. I’m most proud of is the fact that I was able to build the Arlington Elite brand out of a passion that I had as a kid just wanting to be better /stronger and faster than everyone else.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
