Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Jones.
Hi Chris, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
I’ve been singing almost as long as I’ve been talking. I’m not sure exactly when I started, but I was very young. I grew singing in my church choir. After graduating high school, I began to pursue a career as an R&B singer/songwriter while in college. My career really started to pick up momentum after transferring to the University of North Texas. I began networking with people in the music scene in North Texas. And those connections lead me to where I am today.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My family is very religious, so they didn’t show much support for my music. With the exception of my older brother and my aunt. So, lack of support was a challenge. Also, monetarily It was difficult at times, but I always made it happen! And then I would say balancing my school responsibility and my music career at times was a bit challenging.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an R&B soul singer and songwriter. I bring a lot of smooth soulful vocals to my music. If you love 90s rnb! If you love 90s rnb, you will definitely enjoy my music. I just released a new song called “Bad Guy” available on all streaming platforms.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
For me, Covid honestly just showed me we are the same, just in this world trying to figure things out. It was something we all went through all over the world, not knowing what was going to happen next, but we all endured together
