Today we’d like to introduce you to Christian Garippa.
Christian, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have always been interested in self defense and martial arts. Almost ten years ago I was introduced to an Israeli self defense called Krav Maga. I immediately fell in love with how easy it was to learn and how effective it was for practical application. I received my black belt coming up on 5 years ago and I wanted to start my own school and teachers other how to defend themselves. I started out of a garage and have now built up the business to two facilities with over 100 students and offer Krav Maga, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Kickboxing/MMA and Fitness Classes.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Although it has gone well for me it has not necessarily been a smooth road. There will always be struggles and hurdles to overcome but that is no different than any other work place.

Our business specializes in self defense and martial arts. We are different because of the positive culture, fun in the activities, and family like atmosphere that our facilities promote. I am most proud of the impact we make on our students who train with us. The confidence and self-esteem that builds within is exciting to watch. Everyone gets safer, everyone gets fitter, adults expand unexpected horizons, and kids become bully proof.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
The characteristics that makes Savage Krav Maga successful is the positive culture, fun, and family atmosphere. Our coaches are friendly and personable. From the first time each person walks in till when they leave they feel like they belong and a part of something special.
