Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Hamill.
Christina, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My love of videography and photography came from my own wedding back in October of 2011. When I received my raw video footage from the day I actually created my own wedding video and realized how fun it was. Right then and there, I realized I wanted to get into the Wedding business doing video. I soon came to realize I needed to build a portfolio with pictures first. I took a few college classes to learn about my camera and how to compose pictures.
After this, I started my company and took everything from families to newborns to weddings. I did that part-time while I worked full time as an architect for over a year and a half. When I had my first son in 2017, I decided to take on Photography and videography full time. As another year went by, I found out I was pregnant with my second child; I decided to switch my focus solely on weddings.
I love everything about weddings including engagements, bridals, proposals and the day itself! It made only sense to make it my specialty. Now almost 3.5 years in the industry, I love what I do and have met the most wonderful people who many I can call my friends.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Starting out in photography and videography always has its challenges. You have to buy the gear up front, then start building your portfolio. The first half of the year I worked very hard for very little, but I wanted to build and tone my craft.
After 3.5 years, I have built a brand for myself and have found my calling in the wedding industry. I love what I do so much and feel extremely blessed!

A big shout out goes to my professor at Collin College who I took my first photography classes with when I was first starting out. He taught me how to use my camera correctly and look for those amazing moments. He really took my photography to the next level.
Another HUGE shout out goes to my parents. Without them, I would never have the time for any of my shoots. They take my children for every engagement, bridal and wedding. Even when I am gone 12-14 hours, they are so supportive of me.
Having 2 under 2 it is not easy, but when they come and watch them, I get so much done. They are my cheerleaders in my photography career and life in general.
