Hi Christina, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 2020, I began experimenting with something I had always loved: creating balloon garlands. It started as a fun activity for my children’s birthday parties and family gatherings. Pouring my creativity and skill into each garland I began finding an immense joy in transforming simple balloons into colorful, festive displays. My designs grew more elaborate and admired by friends and family and I began to see a glimmer of possibility. Perhaps, just perhaps, this could be the path to my next adventure.
In February 2023, I crafted a beautiful balloon garland for a family member’s celebration. The response was overwhelming. People started asking about my services and how pricing worked. It was at that moment I felt a clear sign from God that this was my new path. He seemed to be guiding me toward starting a flexible business that would allow me to prioritize my family while engaging in something creative and joyful.
Determined to follow this new path, I took a leap of faith and launched my own business, “Events that Pop!”, specializing in custom balloon designs and backdrop decor for personal and corporate events. Embracing this opportunity has been a rewarding leap of faith, and I’m grateful for where it’s led me. Lastly, my success would not be possible without the unwavering support of my husband, Paul. His encouragement and backing mean the world to me.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My journey has been both beautiful and transformative, merging my commitment to my family with a newfound passion for balloon artistry. Life has a remarkable way of guiding us toward unexpected yet deeply fulfilling paths. I hope my story illustrates how embracing change, following one’s intuition, and heeding a bit of divine guidance can lead to truly rewarding outcomes.
The road was not without its challenges. Balancing the demands of a new business with family responsibilities can be difficult. I spend many late nights planning designs, sourcing materials, and managing orders, all while ensuring my children still feel my unwavering support and love.
Nevertheless, my resilience continues to prevail. My distinctive style, creativity, and personal touch continues to set me apart in the industry. My attention to detail and exceptional customer service has attracted a growing clientele who value the unique touches I bring to each event. With the Lord’s guidance, my business continues to flourish and for that I am forever grateful.
Throughout this journey, I have remained a devoted mother and wife, skillfully integrating my professional success with family life. Transitioning from a dedicated teacher to a successful business owner involved hard work, steadfast love, and the courage to pursue my dreams. My story stands as a testament to the power of resilience and the joy found at the intersection of passion and family. I hope my legacy will be defined not only by the vibrant balloon displays I create but also by the inspiration I provide to others—demonstrating that with dedication and heart, it is possible to turn dreams into reality while shining brightly through every challenge.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
In the next 5-10 years, I believe the event industry will be more successful than ever! We can expect to see an exciting range of new trends, from nude palettes to vibrant neons, and everything in between. At Events that Pop, we’re ready to embrace and lead these trends. My goal for the business is for Events that Pop to become a staple in Dallas, the go-to choice for every DFW event. It would be incredible to build a respected name in the industry nationwide, and expanding into a few franchises would be a fantastic achievement!
