Thanks for sharing your story with us Christina. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
It started off as a slight idea when I was pregnant with my son. I’ve always wanted my own business with anything dealing with beauty. So, one day as I was planning my baby shower, I started Googling vendors. I asked a million and one questions. I started off my business name with ‘Lash By La’Nise’. But, later, changed it to ‘Lavish Luxe By Christina La’Nise’. It’s not easy building up your name as people make it seem. It takes work! A lot of work!
Has it been a smooth road?
No, it has NOT! Not at all! At one point, I completely just stopped selling my product because I had got discouraged and also had personal issues of my own that I was dealing with at the time. My sales had slowed tremendously. So, that lead me to stop promoting. I never mentioned my product. I just overall stopped being active. But, after long thought and prayer (because I literally gave up)…I knew I needed to stick it out. In the long run, I’ll reach my ultimate goal.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
I mostly specialize mainly in lashes, because that’s what I started off with. But, now…I’m in the process of adding more. Which is why changed my brand name to what it is now. So, it won’t be ONLY lashes. It’ll be jewelry, apparel, gloss (which is originally what I wanted to do!), hairpins. Ya, know…things like that. But, what I’m most proud of is just hearing the good feedback from customers that have previously ordered from me. It makes my heart smile. Especially being the owner. I want every woman to enjoy my products as much as I do. And what sets me apart from others is that…although it’s nice to have purchases, it’s even better to see my customers feeling themselves because they look good! I love seeing their confidence go up even more. That’s what it’s all about to me.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes! I’ll have the opportunity to possibly gain more customers. Have more connections. And more opportunities in general! And if you’re in the area just starting out, promote! Promote! Promote! You can gain all types of clientele. Start home first…then branch out. You have to set your base before you build. And as you’re building…make sure your base stays steady. And has a stronghold. Location plays a huge part.
