Meet Christine Crockett Smith of christinecrockettsmith.com in Uptown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christine Crockett Smith.

Christine, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My entire life journey – from birth until today, at 53-years-old – has led me to discover what I came here to do: Encourage conscious living.

“What the hell does that mean?” you might wonder. I define conscious living as choosing to use your time, talent, money, gifts and energy to make the world a better place.

In other words: realize it isn’t all about you. It’s about what you do, how you do it, and who you do it with, while you’re here. So many people struggle through life reactively – letting life happen to them instead of deciding what they want their lives to be. I believe we came here to live proactively – deciding what we want our lives to look/be like, then figuring out how to orchestrate that.

My first book, 18 Master Values: Be the parent you wish you’d had, is about parenting consciously. I’m also available to help people with that in person, whether speaking, giving workshops, group coaching, or one-on-one.
The conference I hosted in March, The Power of One: Encouraging conscious living by celebrating those who are living consciously, was all about conscious living. There are so many ways to use exactly what you have right now to positively impact your life and those of others.

My website is all about celebrating the greatness that exists on planet earth right now. I’ve been on a media fast since August of 2014 and prefer to focus on what is right with the world instead of what is wrong.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It HAS been a smooth road, but only because I’ve learned that on the other side of darkness, there is light. So when things occur that I wouldn’t have chosen, I’m able to observe them and know that I’ll get through them, and try to figure out what I can learn from them so I don’t repeat them. I see obstacles and hurdles as things to figure out; not as things to halt my forward motion.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about christinecrockettsmith.com – what should we know?
My business/company is about positive personal growth. I help individuals one-on-one by helping them work through obstacles they feel are keeping them from being everything they want to be. I work with companies to help identify shifts they can make within their culture to encourage a more positive work environment. I speak to groups to encourage them to come together to support each other on their personal growth journeys. And my favorite part is working with young people to help them know that what they know in their bones – that a lot of the BS they’ve been fed isn’t real – is true. I’m most proud of knowing that I’ve changed the trajectory of people’s lives.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
So many people deserve credit. My parents who struggled through not quite knowing how to raise little people, who helped me know that I wanted to commit to figuring out how to do that well. My sisters for being my greatest supporters. So many friends who have encouraged me and made me believe I had something to say that people needed to hear. Marie Forleo who teaches people how to build location independent businesses. And so many thought leaders who share their truths, even in the face of people who vehemently disagree with them: Oprah, Eckhart Tolle, Martha Beck, Byron Katie, Danielle Laporte, Michael Beckwith and so many others. My editors and printer. The incredible team that helped pull off our first Power of One Conference.
