Meet Christopher Bates of Bates Roofing and Construction in Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christopher Bates.

Christopher, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Well, I have been in construction off and on since I was a teenager. Working outside and with my hands were always a favorite of mine and shortly after the passing of my stepfather I decided to go back to what made me the most happy. I have been actively running my own company for almost two years now and I wouldn’t change a thing. Being able to really help people with their home improvement projects without charging them an arm and a leg is my main business model and if I can get paid for doing what I love then I really can’t ask for more in my life.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
For the most part, yes. We’ve dealt with a few complications along the way such as finding honest and quality driven employees as well as learning how to deal with difficult clients. But as a whole, this whole experience has been easy going. There is a vast multitude of information and other contractors out there that can be helpful in almost any situation we may come across.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We specialize in roofing mostly but perform a variety of different projects for our clientele. We pride ourselves on educating our customers, explaining everything about the job to the client and making sure they get exactly what they want. We are an integrity based company and we like to say “We’re not your average roofing company” and we mean it!

What were you like growing up?
Growing up I always got to help my father with his projects and I gained an early knowledge of working with tools from those experiences. I was an outgoing young man and boy could I sell, I could sell snow to an Eskimo. I was always goal driven in almost everything I tried to do from sports, boy scouts, and even school fundraisers.
