Today we’d like to introduce you to Christy Gall.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was born with a very rare birth defect and grew up in hospitals. With rumors of never walking correctly, never being able to have children or even living past a young age I’ve been determined to overcome as long as I can remember. Thanks to God’s grace and Blessing, I’m not only an overcomer of these obstacles, I have thrived despite them. I have a wonderful daughter and family, and an overflowing life. I also have caring and talented doctors and nurses who have helped me along the way.
These doctors and nurses have been my “WHY” in launching my business. I’ve always wanted to give back to the many wonderful people in the health care industry that have blessed me over the years. With a love of graphic design and marketing, I turned my talents toward those areas and started a small copy and printing company. Because of my familiarity of the medical field and my experience with business ownership, I soon found myself helping and problem solving with physician’s offices, hospitals, and other medical organizations. Through print marketing, I help make the business part of medical professionals’ lives run smoother, so they can concentrate on their calling of making this world healthier. That’s how I give back now.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No road is ever smooth for long, but challenges have lessons from which we can learn. Those challenges can teach and train us for bigger and better things so we can help others. Printing presses break down, computers quit, employees don’t show up, and always at the worst times. However, we persevere and grow from each experience. From my experiences, I now know how to run/work on presses, do basic computer fixes, and have temp agencies on speed dial, all of which make me a better business owner and person. There have been periods of health issues to go through. Those times have taught me to rely on the strength and assistance of others and the importance of surrounding myself with great people. Life and business should not be attempted alone. Relationships are important.
Please tell us about Print and Brand It.
Since initially creating Print And Brand It with the heart to assist those in the medical industry, we have now been able to deliver branding solutions and print for a large variety of businesses. While providing branding solutions through design and print is the main focus, helping businesses to run more smoothly in order to do what they do best is the ultimate goal. To do that, we strive to understand our clients’ business to the extent that we are and extension of that business. This understanding and involvement helps us to customize forms that assist employees to perform their jobs more efficiently. It also results in promotional pieces and products that better reflect each client. It should be as though Print And Brand It clients have their own on-site print shop and branding team. We understand that our success depends greatly on our clients’ success. Print and Brand It exists to help our clients be the best they can be.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Growing Up?
Determined and tenacious! I was determined to do everything I was told I shouldn’t because of possible health restrictions. I was awful at sports, but I was tenacious in my efforts and tried all I could, even gymnastics. During the times when I was not well enough to do these things, I solved puzzles, and played games because I love to figure things out.
Reflecting on this now I realize how it all plays into my business today. I’ve always been determined to overcome the obstacles in front of me. My involvement in sports helped me to learn the importance of teamwork and tenacity. The love of puzzles helps me to see challenges as opportunities. Opportunities to become better at what I do and to help others.
