Today we’d like to introduce you to Christy Stransky.
Christy, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started my journey five years ago when visiting a friends studio in Dallas. She knew my soul needed this practice more than I did, at the time. I joined her for a class and instantly fell in love! For me, meditation was the one thing I was missing during that particular season of my life, and how I found it saved as well as changed me in a positive way. The atmosphere of the studio grounded me for an hour with no fear, struggles, anxieties, or questions on my mind about the past, present, or future. The studio was my safe place. A place for me to reconnect with myself, allow for self-recognition, and confidence. The POWER of breathing and the way it was taught gave me a unique form of concentration.
I found a studio in the Fort Worth area to call home and felt this was the missing piece in my life. Through my relationship with the Lord, yoga, and therapy, I felt this made me the best version of myself resulting in pure bliss.
I felt like I had it all. I then had some hardships in 2015. I was headed to my sister’s wedding and ended up getting in a plane crash that was devastating on so many levels. As I questioned God for the next few months, I was instantly awakened when a dear friend lost her life heading to work. She had recently gotten married, and they were expecting their first child. I couldn’t understand why God needed me when she had everything going for her in her life. The studio and my mat was my sanctuary, and I realized he needed me here to help change the lives of others through mental clarity, self-realization, and mental happiness.
I had and currently still work as a sales rep in dental for the last ten years. I truly believe what I do in the industry changes the lives of others when we can use our technology to give someone a smile they never had, help understand why their child is acting out due to airway restrictions, etc.
The studio is another portion of my “changing the lives of others” mission in my portfolio. When I hear the members tell their stories and how the studio has helped get them through tough times, increase the happiness of themselves or their relationship, brought them closer to God… I know I’m living the path God chooses for me and can’t want to see what the future holds for the studio, our members, and the community.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Building a business is tough. You have ups and downs. It’s hard when you have employees, instructors, people that don’t have the same passion or have their own agenda. As a single female, I thrive on working hard and reaching goals. Success sometimes means you lose friends, have to make a tough decision that is best for the vision or future of the business or celebrate your victories alone.
Gypsy Waltz Hot Yoga – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Hot yoga using FIR infrared heat. We are expanding and adding hot rowing and a hot cycle bar. We sell wellness to anyone who can breathe. We like it hot!! #butdidyoudie

Our name, “Gypsy Waltz” is a collection of pieces of my life.
Gypsy-I’ve always been called a Gypsy which I love. Last minute solo travel, Yes, please! I love meeting people and learning new cultures and ways of life.
Waltz-through the mountains and valleys in my life, it’s pertinent to “waltz” with grace.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Being authentic, intention, and effective every day of my life. Living life in Gods word.
