Today we’d like to introduce you to Clifford Stratton.
Clifford, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I opened Regent Restoration in 2009, but I guess you could say I’ve been in the restoration business since I was a kid. My dad owned a restoration company in San Antonio, and during high school, I would help him out after school and during the summer breaks. This time period had a lasting impact on me. I got to learn first-hand not only the skills required to run a restoration business but the value of hard work.
When I opened up shop more than ten years ago, I had a vision and a plan to create one of the best professional full-service water and fire damage restoration companies in the industry. But, Regent Restoration’s beginnings were very humble. We were operating inside of a house. Back then, It was just me, one person working the phones, a van, and some equipment.
Now, we have two locations in Lewisville and Dallas and a team of more than 30 people with a full fleet of service vehicles and a state-of-the-art restoration facility. We’ve become one of the leading water and fire damage restoration companies in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and we’re proud of that.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
As any business owner can tell you, the road is rarely smooth. In those early years, I ran into obstacles I would have never thought of even with all my years of business school. But, I firmly believe that if you never face challenges or make mistakes, you will never grow, especially as a business owner.
In the early days, cash flow was limited. We didn’t know how to effectively market our services or build ourselves up as a brand. Sometimes, I had problems finding enough skilled technicians once we did get all these jobs coming in. Ultimately, I had to learn how to adapt. The more you’re able to adapt and educate yourself to all the changes that are thrown at you, the more successful you will be.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Regent Restoration – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Regent Restoration is a full-service water and fire damage restoration company. This means we handle every single step of the process, like water extraction, property damage repair, contents cleaning, sewage cleanup up and more. With our full-service approach, we’re able to help customers save money since they don’t have to shop around for different contractors.
As a company, we’re proud of how we can help restore peace of mind. People’s homes are an extension of themselves. After a water or fire damage accident, it can feel like everything you’ve worked for is gone in a blink of an eye. In the restoration business, we’re able to make people feel whole again.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
With all the growth we’ve been having, we’re excited for the future. Just this past month, we had a big brand redesign to usher us into this new phase of our business journey. We hope to open another branch in Fort Worth, and we plan on expanding our services to include mold remediation and removal.
