Meet Colleen Frost

Today we’d like to introduce you to Colleen Frost.

Colleen, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Back in the day, I had a cleaning business, which then evolved into a staging business. Meanwhile my husband, Todd was in telecom and we were concerned that at some point he may have a corporate restructure. So I decided to get my Real Estate license. I joined a large local Brokerage in May 2011. My first full year as a Realtor, I became the Rookie Of The Year and the # 1 Agent out of over 215 Agents, while closing over $10 Million in sales. It was then, that I knew in order to take this to the next level, I was going to have to leave the Big Broker house and moved to another Brokerage in the area. There I grew a Team, and tripled my production the next year to $30 Million. At this juncture, my husband decided to walk away from corporate America and join beside me and continue to build a better business for our clients and friends. We continued to grow until one day I woke up and KNEW what was the next unplanned step, to open our own Brokerage, Colleen Frost Realtors. You see I don’t believe in Goals, because I feel that NO Goals = No Limits. I do however believe in Visions. I never had the Goal to open a Brokerage but it literally was in my heart one morning and was a very clear Vision. I knew that I have been given a Gift, and that if I didn’t do this, I wouldn’t be living my full potential and purpose. My purpose is to be Successful with my Passion and help others be successful with their Passion. I guess you could say, this is my calling. We opened our Real Estate Home Brokerage in June, 2017 located in Downtown Historic Plano and are now at 28 agents and growing at a wonderful pace!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Everything we do, if we do it successfully and to our full potential has it’s struggles. Whether it’s our business, our daily careers, our marriages, our friendships, our relationships with our families, a sport we play, an instrument we play, or a battle in our daily lives are enduring in life at any given point can bring struggles. It’s with these daily struggles, that we Grow. Our motto here at our Brokerage is exactly that to Learn, Grow and Become Better. Leadership is a struggle that provides a gateway to our full potential. I believe that struggles and failures in our business, make us strong leaders and entrepreneurs. The biggest struggle that I have endured is trying to learn how to grow successfully and not having the tools along the way because no one teaches you how to build it. That’s why I started the Brokerage, so that I can create the tools and resources to Coach and Mentor Realtors on how to Learn, Grow and Become Better.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I own with my husband a Residential Real Estate Brokerage. I specialize in both advanced marketing of my listings and also assist in finding buyers the perfect home while making sure it’s a strong investment with a great return, so they are wanting to utilize our VIP services when they go to move again in the future.

I am known for a few things. One being my strong presence of Social Media, such a Facebook with over 2800 followers. However, I am most known for my Registered Trademark, POOF! IT’S GONE!®. This is what we use when we put a home under contract. Instead of saying Under Contract or Sale Pending, we say POOF! IT’S GONE!® Everyone loves it. We now have hats, mugs, clothes, etc. with this trademark.

I am personally most proud of the fact that I didn’t know where this venture was going to take me. You see, I don’t believe in Goals. I believe No Goals=No Limits. So I am proud of the fact that each and every day we continue to Grow and excited about the future.

I think the difference between myself and others is that, I have gone from cleaning homes to staging homes to selling homes and I didn’t know how to do it but I knew 1 thing…. HOW TO HUSTLE 8 DAYS A WEEK! In addition to hustling every day in selling over 100+ homes a year, I enjoy Coaching and Mentoring other agents and show them how to build a Business bigger than they ever dreamt.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Proving my first coach was wrong in telling me I couldn’t hit the goal I set for myself.  She had asked me in a coaching session, what my goal was for 2012.  I stated $100,000 (like most new realtors).  She stopped me in the class and said Colleen, that’s a lofty goal, can you think if a more realistic number and I regretfully said $60,000.  After class I went into her office to ask for an apology as she did apologize and said that was a high goal and I said yes, but it’s mine.  It was with that statement, that I went on my first full year to sell over $10M in real estate and made triple what my original goal was.

As a former neighbor of Todd and Colleen’s I can say they truly have a heart for people. You can definitely see that in them and the article. I love that the vision God gave you was more important than a man made goal. Wishing you and your team continued success, Colleen and Todd!
