Today we’d like to introduce you to Connie Lawrence.
Connie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started cleaning about 5 years ago part time while working full time as a supplemental income. In December 2016, I lost my full time job and was forced to apply for unemployment benefits to support my family. In January, I began pondering my next move for employment. I considered going back into the corporate world, however with 2 kids I knew that I wanted to have availability for the activities that my son would be involved in. Entrepreneurship has always been a dream of mine, and it seemed like the perfect opportunity to dive all in. Way2clean seemed like the perfect starting point for an official business.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road has been far from smooth. Anyone that decides to live solely from a new business is crazy! I have sometimes wondered myself what have I done! This first year the struggles have been endless from being financially unstable at times, to wearing several hats and a business owner and of course developing a strategic plan for business growth as well. But the reward of being able to provide from your own Independence and setting an example for my children is priceless.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Way 2 Clean story. Tell us more about the business.
Way2clean is a residential and commercial cleaning company. We offer residential services including; standard and deep cleanings, move in/move outs, reoccurring, Post Construction and make ready, after party clean up and office cleaning. We also offer window and light carpet cleaning. What sets us apart from other Cleaning services is our professionalism, attention details and quality.
