Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Austin.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Courtney. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My journey started with trial and error as with most people. I was a full-time college student as well as a full-time employee and a mother but I always had aspirations of doing something greater than corporate America. As I graduated from college and gained employment with very prestigious companies, I always managed to keep something else going on the side for supplemental income. I learned taxes and had friends who knew more about the industry than myself and they were encouraging me to learn more as well. As my last corporate job gave us a warning about layoffs, I then began to prepare myself for entrepreneurship and lined up everything needed to do my launch. At that time, Austin Financial was birthed and what started as a tax preparation service has grown into a financial firm.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
If it were easy, everyone would be doing it right? Lol… as with any business, I have had my share of hurdles, from learning how to separate business from personal relationships to taking reigns of operating a real business and not running my business as a hustle.

We provide a number of financial services that include personal and small business tax return preparations, personal credit restoration services, business credit building programs, business funding, business formations, life insurance, financial literacy, and budgeting.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Riding bikes through the neighborhood.
