Kelly, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have my undergrad in Communications and International Business from SMU with a Masters in International Marketing from Boston University. I have always loved start ups and all that entails. When I was 16, I started a very successful babysitting business and had over 100 clients. In college, I worked for Herb Kelleher, founder of Southwest Airlines, as his assistant and an intern in the executive office. After college, I worked as the VP of sales for a telecom company and conducted business on all of the continents. Wanting to get back into a start-up and focus on marketing and branding, I left my corporate job to start Cryo1one almost 3 years ago. Cryo1one now has become the premier Dallas provider of whole body cryotherapy with plans to expand in other DFW areas. My business partner was an original customer of the business and became so passionate in the technology that he decided to partner to expand the brand.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I don’t think any start-up is particularly easy, especially with an industry that in a whole is in its infancy when I opened my location. We have struggled with the right manufacturer to provide the cryo machine – but now are the only cryo provider in North Dallas to have a US-made machine that our customers love. Additionally. we started with a 300-square ft. retail space that we have since tripled due to demand. We have had to figure out the right grassroots marketing approach – what works and what does not with selling cryo. However, we have been incredibly lucky to have a high Return on Emotional Investment with our brand with very loyal customers who want to see our brand succeed.

With a convenient and affordable location in North Dallas’s historic Preston Royal Village, Cryo1one is the leading provider of Whole Body Cryotherapy. Guests not only visit our location because of the continued benefits they see from Cryotherapy but to experience the high-level of customer service our friendly and knowledgeable staff provides.
While standing in our nitrogen-cooled CryoSauna for three minutes, guests are exposed to temperatures that vary from -167 F to -202 F. During the session, the outside skin’s temperature lowers, stimulated receptors activate a central nervous system response (fight or flight) and vasoconstriction occurs. The blood rushes to the core to protect vital organs. Once the session ends, the body immediately starts the rewarming process, vasodilation begins, supplying the body and extremities with newly oxygenated blood. Guests have reported many benefits of Whole Body Cryotherapy after the session such as better sleep, increased recovery, improved skin conditions, decreased muscle soreness.
I am most proud of the customer service and education about cryotherapy we provide the general public and our customers. We do a lot of community events that brings people together that sets us apart and are deeply engaged with our customer base with their personal lives, etc.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We will continue to expand to other locations in DFW, while still maintaining the high level of service our customers have become accustomed to. We will continue to grow the community events and involvement in North Dallas thru our events.
