Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal Easley.
Hi Crystal, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I have always had a passion for helping young girls and women. My journey started about nine years ago. I was teaching middle school English at an all-girls school in Fort Worth, TX. The students and I had such a great bond that it was no longer a career it was my ministry. As they poured into me, I poured into them with encouraging words. I realized at that time that this was my passion and that I would devote myself to helping young women reach their highest potential. Throughout the years, I’ve created women support groups (one independently and one with a group of friends). Though these groups were hard to sustain, I never lost faith. This year, I set out to really hear from God and his message was very clear. His words to me were “do it again.” With a lot of task on my plate such as being a wife, mother of 4, full-time student, and school counselor, I said to God, use me and give me strength. Through his message and perfect timing, Destined 4 Excellence evolved. I am excited to do the work that I was destined and created to do!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Destined 4 Excellence was created March 27th, 2022. I hit the ground running by opening and furnishing an office space in Grand Prairie, TX. I was able to register with the state of Texas as a nonprofit organization and then shortly after I filed for my 501c3; both have been approved. I am blessed with an amazing support system (my husband, family, and friends) who have been shouting D4E since I announced the news at the beginning of the year. There have been a few challenges such as managing a team, figuring out marketing strategies, and making time to plan all the events. However, through it all, I keep pushing because there are women who need a strong support group and my purpose is way bigger than what I can even imagine.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Destined 4 Excellence is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created to support women on becoming the best versions of themselves in health/wellness, career exploration, and parenting. Our goal is to equip women with a strategic plan that will help them reach their highest potential. What sets us apart is that here at Destined 4 Excellence, we know that sometimes all it takes to change the world is a little support. Since our founding in 2022, we have been determined to make an impact on the lives of women in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. The core of our efforts is to bring our team’s fresh ideas and passion to the range of community projects we are involved in. Through all of our endeavors, we hope to display the conviction behind our beliefs. In addition, we offer parenting classes, career roadmaps (one on one consultations), and health/wellness activities and or events. Also, I have a podcast titled “Ladies of Excellence,” where I discuss real-life issues that women encounter daily. We pride ourselves on being the sisters for women who need them. Lastly, I am most proud of the outpouring of support and love from women in the community.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My advice for anyone that is just starting is to “just start.” Don’t be afraid of failure and don’t think too deep into all of the logistics. Create a simple plan and start working from there. When things are too detailed, you can possibly lose sight of the purpose and then become overwhelmed. Also, just know that things will work out just fine if you put your trust and faith in God.
