Meet Crystal Robertson of Madame C’s Touch Agency/Feed the Streetz Outreach in Central Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal Robertson.

Crystal, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I graduated from Texas A&M University-Commerce in Spring 2016 with a BS in Public Relations and started my business immediately after my first pyramid scheme sales job failed… door to door. Long story short, my car was wrecked after I returned from a graduation trip to the Bahamas. Reality set in fast, no money or car. Quickly, I learned that if I am going to sell anything, it’s going to be me and what I can do for others. Furthermore, I felt confident in starting my company due to undergraduate experiences such as: internships under a fashion publicist, event coordination, seven years of working part-time jobs & customer service, and leading community-related projects for different organizations I was involved in.

On Sunday, October 2, 2016, I launched my PR company at a local bar, “On Premise”, in Deep Ellum Dallas during Cotton Bowl Weekend. The bar owner was hesitant that I was going be able to compete with the weekend festivities due to being a new company. Yet, I assured him I would make it happen. With the help of my trusted partners Anthony Wallace and Milaun Mack, we produced our own marketing strategy. Although, we did not pack the venue; there was a diverse crowd and we produced more than what was expected on bar sales. The owner was impressed. I was offered my own night that I politely declined due to not wanting to be defined as another event coordinator or promoter.

From there, I went on to introduce the non-profit entity of Madame C’s Touch Agency: Feed the Streetz Outreach in late November 2016. Inspired from my personal life experiences being a product of check to check home, hand me down clothes, once homeless, fatherless, almost did not graduate high-school, child of a single mother who was the black sheep of the family that later deceased in 2011, at age 18, during my senior year… I felt the need to give back to where I came from. With the help of Dekaylon Greer, Jazymne Dixon, and Marquan Williams we were able to show collaboration among young Dallas entrepreneurs by serving 200 “Blessing Bags” to the homeless in South Dallas. Officially, I received my first sponsor, Sunny Dental that currently helps with providing toiletries for this annual event. Also, I wanted to show through MCT Agency that I can grow outside business endeavors.

The company name Madame C’s Touch agency was inspired by a group of male friends from high-school, they which referred to me as “Madame C-Rob” due to my alternate male persona. I took on the role of being a self – constructed independent woman with more than sex appeal. The word Madame defined the respect I wanted to have in the industry in which I had no clue on entering earlier in my career. Ultimately, “A touch of Madame C to create a lasting memory” is my goal…

Has it been a smooth road?
This is an ongoing learning experience. I went head first when I started my company knowing I would have to hustle for my dreams yet, every day was figuring out what that meant. Financially, I learned how to invest in myself. Since I am working a full-time job and as of 2019, a new mother… learning balance. I still have to live, pay bills, keep my faith that all my efforts will further what’s next, but ultimately dedicate time to being productive in the areas that will grow me as a CEO for MCT Agency.

Consistency is what I pride myself on. Some people do not have the endurance to run a company especially when life does not go as planned. I work through the hiccups. Literally, in 2017, I quit the best entry-level job and survived three car wrecks that year. I still committed to getting things done for my company and staying relevant.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Madame C’s Touch Agency/Feed the Streetz Outreach (non-profit/combined company) – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
“Inspired by dreams, driven in purpose, & creating lasting memories”, are the fundamentals in which Madame C’s Touch Agency thrives on. The projects executed by the company demonstrates precise hustle and cunning talent to grow clientele vision while preserving authenticity.

MCT Agency services specialize in Media & Public Relations, advertising, writing content, and special events. Currently, we work business to business. My staff includes Milaun Mack and Ashley Bowden which I share the workload to ensure “we make it happen”.

A lot of people recognize MCT Agency for the growth of Feed the Streetz Outreach. We have been able to establish our presence in the non-profit industry and growing at a consistent rate. The group works with Dallas Life Foundation Shelter, local low-income apartments, and participate in local city events such as the MLK Parade hosted in South Dallas.

I am okay with MCT Agency being behind the scenes, we have helped with a variety of companies or individuals providing services that help increase their career statute. Well, that’s what we do! MCT Agency is here to build other’s visions, we will reap the benefits when ultimately our clients succeed in their fields. For now, we are happy to be included in the process.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Dallas has so many opportunities, you just have to be willing to walk through the door. Overall, I believe if you stay true to yourself and do not get lost in the hype; you will make those connections needed to thrive.

Downfalls of the city, I believe is collaborating versus always being self-independent. The more we work together, the more we can conquer those in Dallas who work together with underlying intentions without being true to self and then it results in broken ties. Madame C’s Touch Agency thrives on uniting those that typically would not work together and bridging those gaps. My company plays middle man. We enjoy taking others out of their comfort zone, with the hopes that it produces more collaborative opportunities.
