Meet Csre of DFW

Today we’d like to introduce you to Csre

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born in Houston, Tx. I’ve always been around music growing up, orchestra & gospel, but rap has always been my favorite. My mom and I used to have full blown concerts on the way to school. Growing up it was a natural talent to just recite whatever words was coming “off the top of my head”. I was the kid at the school lunch table you’d get when someone was making a beat with a pencil, the kid you’d call on when someone said they’re the best rapper in the neighborhood, all of that. Majority of high school, I was told I should start making music, but never took it serious. Then aroun 17, two of my friends booked me a studio session. For the simple fact, they said, “If you dont like it, then fine, but you need to make a song foo”. And since that first session, I’ve never looked back. So senior year of highschool, I went by CSRE (“ceasar”), a alter ego as you would say. I came out here for college with a plan to start from the ground up in a new city. First week of classes, I tweeted out that i was the best in the area an woke up to my twitter FLOODED. To me, the goal is to make myself a constant noise, to where you can’t ignore me. I dropped music, ALOT of music to be exact, hit every open mic that would let a 18 year old into there club or lounge, and would do song after song. And slowly, but surely, I made a grounded fan base of fans who I call “5CM’ers”, cause all the 5 is family. And now we’re here, 5 years later loving what I’m doing.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, not at all.
I grew up on the notion of profit, and if you aren’t making any, then you should find a new career, but the love of the genre makes me stay. I’ve gotten offers that weren’t for anything, performed sets for free, stayed outside of offices for hours just for somebody to listen to my art and be denied. Music has always been a highway for me, lots of ups and downs. I remember one time, I was siiting outside my old studio back home in Houston, and J Prince ignoredme when I was handing out flyers to one of my first shows back home. I’ve slept on peoples floors during 12 hour sessions, just so I didnt miss anything that was going on. You can’t expect to be successful , you have to work for it.

I’ve spent days on in studios, broke and tired, for the dream of having millions of people listen to me and relate.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a artist. Specifically HipHop

The 5 reasons why I make music; Hov, Wayne, Ye, GHerbo, Chief Keef.
For me, I make “Pull Up” Music. It’s something where if you in the car, and you going 20MPH or 100MPH, my music is the perfect vibe for it. I’m known for getting stright to the point. Giving you soemthing that you can feel/relate too. An “IDGAF” attitude when it comes to being me and not caring what people think. My versatility makes me different from others. Having a music background, I’ve memorized SO many songs to where being on 1 style isn’t a thing for me. I can give you melodic, boom-bap, turnt, etc. a comepletely different feel from song to song. My competitiveness makes want to be better than anybody my age or people thats in the same genre that I looked up too. People want to be Jay-Z/Kanye, and I wanted to be Prince/Quincy Jones

For me, the biggest accomplishment is the smallest ones. Recently, I had 94k plays for the year of 2024, which was AMAZING. Back then, doing my first show or getting my first distrokid check that was actually worth something. To think that its people out here having me on they spins/playlist and not know me personally, means something. The start of this was just to make something for the bros.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
To me, Luck is based on the time, effort, and work you do. If you aks some people, they would say I’ve had good luck for the most part, and I appreciative and grateful, but for me, I have prayed and put in the hours for my luck to be positive and not negative.
