Today we’d like to introduce you to Cyndi Williams.
Cyndi, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am from a small town near New Orleans, La. I relocated to Dallas, TX in 1999, in hopes of providing a better life for myself and my son.
While photography was always my passion, I spent my first 8 years in Dallas working for the Dallas Cowboys, always trying to figure out who I was, and where I belonged. As a single mom, working multiple hours and sacrificing many of those mommy moments, I steadily held on to my real passion in life, photography. I used my free time to attend a community college and further my education in the photography field. By 2010, I had met and married the love of my life, and had reached a position that allowed me to leave my career, and start chasing my dream of becoming a professional photographer. I immediately began taking any type of shoot I could get. Weddings, HS Seniors, Children, you name it. However, something was missing, I just couldn’t love it!!! Until the day came that I decided to try babies. One baby, and there it was…PASSION!!! I started investing everything I had in workshops, safety courses, equipment, and props.
Suddenly, I knew that Newborn Photography was where I excelled. Today, I am exclusive to Birth, Maternity, Newborn, and Milestones up to the first birthday. I love what I do, and I love that I am able to provide timeless memories to each and every family that I work with, capturing that first moment…that’s who I am, and it’s where I belong.

Has it been a smooth road?
The biggest obstacle has been learning not to compare myself to other photographers. Photographers get so caught up in looking at someone else’s work, that you easily become discouraged without ever realizing that they have been in business years longer than you have. Everyone starts at the beginning, and the defining moment for me, was when I started only comparing myself to the photographer I was last year.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Cyndi Williams Photography story. Tell us more about the business.
I focus on maternity, birth, newborn, and milestones up to the first birthday. I invest an insane amount of time and money in expanding my knowledge in newborn safety, posing, and photography skills to ensure that I provide the most memorable experience for each and every client. Every session is customized to each individual client. I provide all props, accessories, and apparel needed to ensure that my style is consistent from client to client, while maintaining the individual goal each client desires. I pride myself on the clean, simple, natural style that displays the innocence of a new life.
