So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started in the Travel Industry in 1994 and was selling a million dollars in travel a year by the time I was 20! While working for one of the largest travel companies in the world, I was able to work in various areas, including; Organizational Development, Marketing, Operations, and Executive Management. After years in the industry, I decided to spread my wings and open my own agency which is now a robust, award-winning travel agency, Tripsy Travel. We are a full-service agency, with an experienced team of Luxury Travel Planners that create custom and uniquely curated vacations for the families we serve. I am also recognized as an Industry leader, having won two national awards, my advocacy work to support the Travel Industry.
As an Industry veteran, I am as passionate as ever about our industry. I was able to travel the world at a young age and enjoy and learn about the beauty of other cultures and amazing destinations. It has been beautiful to see the Industry change over the past 20 years and how our business continues to evolve with the times.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not always, after the emergence of online travel companies, the landscape for travel agents was uncertain. However, with the over information, strict policies, and lack of customer care on online travel sites consumers have returned to working with Travel Agencies in droves. As modern Travel Designers, we offer a higher level of customer care, advocacy on behalf of our clients, and like any well trained professional we have the insider secrets on how to book amazing vacations, with extra perks, all while saving our clients time & money.
What most people don’t realize is sites like Expedia is actually a travel agency – they are making a commission off every online booking, but they are not providing consumers with the same level of service, assistance, or perks, and customer service is often sub-par. When you book through our agency, for the same price, you get a personal travel designer taking time to understand your unique needs, recommendations about the area, and exceptional customer service. Essentially when people book online they are paying for a service they don’t get. That’s why savvy customers use our agency.

We are known for Luxury Travel Planning. We are a full-service agency, with specialists in different areas. Our staff completes annual training, site tours to the locations they sell most and maintain credentials for our industry so we are providing the best possible services to our clients. We arrange everything from resorts, transfers, tours, insurance, lei greetings and special unique & private tours.
We are also known for the amazing videos we produce and post for our clients giving them an Expert perspective on hotels, destinations, and tour options. On any given month you will see live feeds from amazing vacation destinations, luxury room tours and 5-star hotels, and city tours. Just a few months ago we produced a video at the Four Seasons in Maui, of their Presidential suite to give our clients an insider view of this gorgeous unique suite.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
When I was eight, I remember blowing out the candles on my cake and wishing I was Wonder Woman, although I haven’t been invited to join the Justice League (yet), I feel like owning Tripsy Travel is pretty close. We are superheroes to families each and every day.
