Thanks for sharing your story with us Cynthia. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Flourish is a story of dormant dreams reborn & ignoring barriers to take a giant leap of faith. As a mom with young adult kids I found myself facing a next-chapter moment when my oldest daughter took me to a flower shop and asked “mom what are you going to do now that we’re all leaving home?” This little shop of inspiration was exactly what I would have envisioned myself owning one day.
From that day to less than 4 months later we created a company, found & renovated our first store front, and opened our little shop in Old Town Lewisville.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It’s all about perspective. Everyday can be a struggle but it’s a lot like raising kids. It’s challenging, exhausting, and can be all consuming yet at the same time it’s the greatest experience you hope never ends. For me, Flourish is a labor of love where I meet the most amazing people. I get to join them to celebrate everything from weddings, child birth, anniversaries, birthdays, to the end of life of their loved ones.
Flourish Flowers & Gifts – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My vision is to provide a place where everyone can walk out of our shop with something special for their loved ones at any price point. It’s our hope that when you come into our shop or receive an arrangement you feel loved, full of joy and valued.
One of the things we are most proud of as a company is our customers! We truly care about the people we’re blessed to serve. This has created a community of people who invite us in to become part of their extended family.
One of the things that set us apart is the style & personality of our arrangements. From the seasonal flower selections to the containers, each take on their own unique flair.
Flourish is a full service floral shop, anything from daily deliveries/arrangements, plants, succulents, weddings, and special events. We even have a “fill your vase” special with discounted flowers every Wednesday & Thursday for customers who bring their own vases. What a lot of people don’t know is that we have a wide range of gifts, cards, candles and home decor to choose from as well! You can be sure to find the perfect gift here!
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Originally we thought success would be simply “breaking even”. But God quickly showed us He was about “abundance”. For us, success is gauged by the number of lives we positively impact. Each person, every interaction & every arrangement is an opportunity to make a difference. Building Relationships one person at a time is how we determine success!
